Always liked this car and the E60 5 series design. They were truly ahead of their time, which is why people hated them. Plus the E38 and E39 looked so damned good that anything that replaced them would probably have had a cold reception
true that! I disliked the E60 styling at first (how could they abandon that classy look?!), but after a few years I recognised the great job done by Chris Bangle, the E60 (especially after face lifting) still looks quite modern after all these years. But still, I'm just talking about the design, reliability issues aside ;)
@@green1985i I think the first version looks better, it looks exciting and massive. The facelift looks way to generic and ugly. Looks like the E46 facelift in bigger
I have this car it’s just a piece of art, very luxurious, but it’s good for some certain people that they know how to take care of them and maintaining them right.
im thinking about buying one, its been looked after really well.....would you recommend it or are they just a money pit?
This car was way ahead of its time. Nothing in 2002 had gadgets and electronics like this car. Even the design was too modern for 2002. Drove amazing. Very smooth and enough power. Nice suspension. My only issue with this car were the sensors. Airbag sensor went one day and the car stopped dead center on the highway. Parking brake module acted up another day and i could not move the car. ABS sensor went another day and the car fell into limp mode. I could go on and on.
@0:32 "you won't see any bigger than this"
Well, just take one good look at the 2019 mid cycle facelift. Unnecessary enlargement of the same grill made it hideous.
Yes, that was the moment I realize that we sucked up nicely...
@@Avabalaable 😄
i knew this comment would be here and i was not dissappointed.

Lmao the current 7 Series grills make these look so tiny! 😂
I can't believe that design got approved!
The most elegant bmw ever!!
still love this baby. despite its age it is still a bloody good looking car. maintenance issues yes you might have a crisis here and there but it is worth it.
It's magnificent
I was watching this with my headphones on at night in bed when meant to be going to sleep with everyone downstairs, my headphone bluetooth disconnected and I ended up playing this videos porno music loud enough for my friends parents to hear. This is so awkward. IM WATCHING USED BMW 7 SERIES VIDEOS I SWEAR!!
tomauer28 LOL THAT IS HILARIOUS
You won't see any grills bigger than this
BMW in 2020 with the new M4 challenge accepted
The favorite bmw is the 750il 1994-2002 and then this came before 2003
2019 😍
Lmao "Too high tech"
Dude had no idea what was coming in the next generations! 😂
The steering wheel looks old compared to the rest of the interior.
The steering is the least of its problems...if we talk interior, all the plastics and details are decade behind the quality of its predecessor,E38. Cheap plastic knobs, controls and designer pukes..
Alli Na Agree! To be honest, never had close experience with E60"s,but just had one with the F31. My car was at the service for crankshaft and camshaft sensor replacement, and they screw the things up,installing both sensors with faulty ones (!!) We talk BMW service, where charges 128 eu per hour! So i got replacement car for 10 days, until they fix their fault. It was F31 316 2015 BMW with 8500 km on dash. Almost brand new car. The car is gorgeous on the outside, hands down. And you would expect some waw thing on the inside too, considering its their latest model. Nope. Straight from the door you get hit by cheap painted grey plastics, cheap, very, very cheap fabrics, and the sound from the multimedia is far worse than the stereo i use in my kitchen. ( Philips MCD716) In fact is far worse, than any car stock stereo i have ever listened. The engine when cold is very noisy, almost diesel like. The acceleration from start is very bad, then comes sudden kick from the turbo and then nothing. High noise from wind and tires..,windshield wipers stopped working on the second day,and the sprayers are located under the hood, with all the hoses and cables. I wonder what will happen during the winter, when all that hole gets filled with snow and ice. Disaster. Handling is great, steering feels really good. Brakes are balanced and have good feedback. Handsfree bluetooth works fine. Air condition is really noisy even on the first step. Will never, ever consider throwing 32 000 eu for a junk like this. The exhaust was black as if it had 200 000 km on it. Beautiful outside, nice handling, nice brakes, and thats it. Rest is crap.
@@eleonik76 the facelift sorted this out
I still love this body style 7 series I wouldn't mind having a 2006-08 750Li with the sport factory 20 inch wheels
Very nice
rear lights r so unique
Similar to the E63/E64 6-Series
I want one but the dashboard air vents give me nightmares
Car looks good to me. 2004 kept the same look.
My bro got one of these ship to him in Canada from a different place, I forgot where
Large knob 😂🤷🏻♂️ 2:06
I hate flat dashboard. The console should be toward to the driver as E38.
I hate drawer style storage compartment at center console. The BMW's interior should be the cockpit style or racing car style. Bimmers love to drive. They don't want to live in the office.
I hate the wood trim that doesn't continue to the door panel.
I like i-Drive system. The all touch panel in Audi are bad.
I like the wheels.
This was designed by an American. Says it all really, although BMW have a few stories to tell regarding the designers of their cars. I believe the e39 5 series and e90 3 series were designed by a Japanese guy believe it or not. The e60 5 series was designed by a British guy who died of leukaemia only a few months after it went on sale, a shame really as that is probably the best looking BMW ever and certainly a design which has aged incredibly well, and is regarded better looking and more modern than the latest 5 series. This 7 series looks awful, just a very ugly car, and that steering wheel really doesn't suits the rest of the interior.
e60 was designed by an italian, who died of leukemia
Its designed by steve bangle.

Dreadful, unreliable, awful gearbox, 🤓basically shit on four wheels
sf ferari ☺yup....it's amazingly bad
Ben Powe It all depends on what options you had, also if you had it used, the previous owner probably molested it. Don't base comments on your own experience...
Had a 730d e65 now have a 2012 model my wife had an sdv8 vogue and I can honestly say the e65 was way more reliable
