The Caretaker - Everywhere at the end of time - J1 Ending extended

- One of the most powerful closers to any album. I say this comes close to topping Stage 6's ending, which is insane. Did you know this used to be a somewhat childlike and innocent bell song before it was used here? Yeah, it's completely transformed here.
All credit to Leyland Kirby (The Caretaker)
This feels like waking up in the middle of the night and realizing you still have 4 hours to chill in your bed before the morning.
This isn’t a song of joy or peace. Its one of “empty bliss”. I think theres this common phenomenon in the caretaker of an “empty bliss”. I cant describe it, but this fits it perfectly.
People talk about Hell Sirens, Burning Memory and Stage 6 ending like they are the only songs on the album. It's easy to dismiss such PERFECT songs and ambient mastery.
And Was it a dream Sometimes
@@thomas2390 why do people overrate those songs? I think it’s just a burning memory is one of the worst songs in stage 1, hell sirens ain’t scary, in fact it makes the track feel longer personally, Was It A Dream is beautiful but it’s too short and the Last clarity in N1 will always be my favorite, and The end of stage 6 really made me cry!!!😢😢😢
@@Niiiko895 the second clarity, the grand fantasia section, and G1 are underrated, also C1, A2, A3 and A4 are underrated
@@ForgottenC2890 basically anything that isn’t A1, C2, F2, Hell Sirens, or K1 in general is underrated.
L1's FMS and Farewell Blues Segment,
s,K1SE,Ted Fio Rito's Appearances,he other clarities, the "trumphant" reutrn of F1 in P1SC ( i think)and many more (in my opinion)are prime examples of underatted sections of the EATEOT post-awareness stages.
I'm suprised to see how little this gets talked about among people who've listened to the full album. It quite literally sounds like if sadness itself was a song.
great ambient track!!!
J1 is super underrated. People go on about the shock of G1, the horror of the hell sirens in H1 or the peace of I1, but never this. It conveys a feeling that is really different from the other tracks in the album. The last few minutes are especially beautiful in a deeply saddening way.
Also people forgot about Stage 5 third song (can't blame them it took me like 5 months after discovering EATEOT to apreciate it lol)
I love J1, it's super soothing, and the fact that it's a post-awareness track makes me love it even more.
It's the track that gives the feeling of emptiness. If I1 was a pure bliss, J1 is empty bliss
@@finden3362 Synapse retrogenesis, whilst calm on the surface, is actually the most terrifying of all the tracks to me, after i stopped to think about it.

I really appreciate how J1 doesn't really jump right back into chaos after I1, but instead goes a bit more gently. J1 is a pretty calm track overall, especially the ending.
i tried to sleep through eateot and woke up during this part of j1. genuinely thought it was stage 6 until i checked my computer and was surprised to find out it was from stage 4
Damnn shouldve got more sleep but i was wondering how you slept through the sirens
@@SandboxerSandy i honestly have no idea lmao im a super light sleeper
same i tried to sleep to eateot
I was awake a1-a6
woke up to J1 without getting woken up by C1, E1, G1 or H1
fell asleep again on J1 and didn't get woken up by K1, L1 or M1
woke up on N1 and was stuck wide awake until the very end
I fell asleep listening to Everywhere At The End Of Time on a flight, and woke up (when the flight landed) to the exact moment where this begins. It was surreal because this truly mirrors the trial, and tribulation, of reality. It is a pure moment within chaos.
I had to take a sleeping pill to fall asleep to this. I made it all the way through the first 3 stages until stage 4's chaos immediately woke me up
This is the sound interpretation of falling, while you are half-awake in bed and feeling relaxed. A true empty bliss.
I'm not usually the one to fall asleep during daytime, but i tried sleeping while being sick one day and i put this on loop, i slept for an hour, i forgot to turn off an alarm so that woke me up, but i can still say that this has helped me through whatever i was sick with, i think it was a severe cold
I have 2 final words to say, thank you.
Between the shrivelled paradise of I1 and the absolute chaotic despair of K1, is this nice little uncanny valley of empty bliss. I have never loved a piece of music as much as this project. It has educated me so much on the horrifying disease that is dementia, and revolutionised the very concept of music for me
Bewildered in Other Entanglements????
And Heart Breaks for the ones going through dementia???
I find it interesting that you can hear this about 10 minutes into G1. The samples and motifs are short and chaotic, but underneath the chaos you can hear these melancholic chimes, which to me signify a sense of hopelessness. When you hear the chimes again in J1, they ring alone, as if the memories from before have dissolved. The conclusion of Stage 4 is powerful and a little bittersweet, and overall I love the album for what it delivers.
This truly is the last peaceful moment, in my eyes. At least, the last peaceful moment that lasts any meaningful amount of time
This is so Calm and pure, it feels as though it's some sort of unconscious or conscious acceptance of their condition, this is probably one of my favorite parts of the entire Album.
J1 Section D has this hauntingly peaceful ambience, but for some reason it doesn't scare me at all, although it's a bit sad, knowing that this is far from being as bad as the patient struck with dementia going through. A beautiful piece to be honest. As lovely as Temporary Bliss State.
That same hollow note/motif that plays repeatedly in this part reminds me of the haunting single horn sound that repeats in Long Decline is Over. This is a more beautiful version of it though.
I feel like this is a moment where you try to enjoy what you have before the storm hits, it’s a calming peace, but it feels scary, as if it’s ticking away your time
It feels like the album is just saying "Hey. It's okay. We can get through this. You can just keep calm here for now."
It lulls you into a false sense of security, thinking things are getting better, making the jumpscare of K1 so much scarier.
@@Gardengap Of course it does. It's like the wolf in sheep's clothing metaphor, until K1 plays and it rips off the clothing to reveal its true form.
@@themonomineestation5815 basically it’s the calm before the storm. You see the weather’s all nice and sunny and you go outside and then you get struck by lighting
@@themonomineestation5815 I’m guessing the patient has fallen asleep or something and is at peace
@@Gardengap What about the end of L1?
i think of this as temporary bliss state v2, but more melancholy. is gives a depressing yet calm atmosphere, before it's stripped away from you abruptly as you are dragged into k1. the calm before the storm. i imagine the patient suddenly remembering everything, pointing to their family members and one by one naming each one, giving the lovers a hug, while everyone has tears slowing dragging down their faces. until suddenly the patient forgets everything and starts to lash out at them in a rage- induced confusion. its heartbreaking to listen to, yet also calming.
This part of J1, this, this part, this tiny 10 minute segment out of all of the 6 hours of EATEOT, this here, is what truly broke me. There is no amount of words that can describe the dread I feel when listening to this, especially at the dead of night. Thank you for extending this tragic masterpiece.
yes me too it drained my brain of though and filledmy head with a beigeish mist and i couldn't think straight
Something of very cool note, you can hear this during the beginning of stage 4, very faintly in the background of the chaos. It is something that blew me away when re-listening. There is so much hidden in EATEOT, that adds on so much when re-listening.
It's so weird how some people find this terrifying while others find it soothing.
I tried listening to J1 while high and felt like I was dreaming. Once you listen to it individually, without the whole dementia context both preceding and succeeding it, I just find it soothing and tranquil
To me this part of the song feels like a long lost rest, a calm between the storms of hell sirens and stage 5. The last thing you could call a respite before being swept away by the tide
You have no idea how thankful I am. While this track is reserved to be ominous and conveying of dementia, this inner twisted part of me thinks it is very calming. I will forever be positively intrigued by this piece.
my inner part likes L1
This extended loop has become the soundtrack to my daily life (specifically when I need to relax, or if I need to find perspective). It is a true atmospheric bliss that captures an ambiance found somewhere between chaos, and clarity. I've listened to Everywhere At The End Of Time at least a dozen times, and the end of J1 is by far my favorite moment on the album. Thank you for this!
This reminds me of the later half of "Sudden time regression into isolation" which is literally just empty bliss and distorted hospital noises.
its like purgatory, tbh. serene and empty bliss. i love this moment of post awareness confusions. it stands out from the rest. like a glimpse to what's the confusing madness is gonna become in the end. amazing.
They talk about A1, R, & H, but they are starting to talk about J. J is really calming (fact: it put me to sleep every time.) because 4 or 5 drones are like a dream. It's nice to have some sleeping powder in a EATEOT Track ("Not trying to say thats a bad thing, but i'm saying thats a good thing." - NATMOS Experience). Lastly, when you have albums, you can have J & I.
Thank you Jordan Keuring for having 2 calming videos/tracks (Further Entanglements & This).
Edit: when i get to a pickle, I1 - Various - Temporary Bliss State & This is there.

You can hear the static trying to take over, and the wind chime thing is like “no this is my section!” keeping all the static and confusion bottled up, making it completely explode outwards in Stage 5.
4:33 - 4:37 I don't know how to describe it, but Fleeting dreams sounds very soothing and epic here
I always really liked this part, so different from Stage 4. Relaxing. Thanks for this extension.
Imagining the vinyl crackle as rain makes it more relaxing
J'adore vraiment cette partie du quatrième album, c'est tellement reposant.
Musicians use fade out's to signify the part of the song looping forever. What the caretaker does is do the same thing with his sections and make the sounds repetetive enough (not a musician but I hear J1 Ending has all the notes in the same pattern/octave), and his ends them abruptly. This is an infinite song that goes on for 7 minutes and ends abruptly. Temporary Bliss State is the same but for 20 minutes and with more changes near the end.
Это настоящее временное состояние блаженства
This is true temporary bliss state
thank you for putting real effort into this 🙏🏻🙏🏻
i like how the calm segment slowly transits into K1, because i notice some effects and voices you could hear in k1
a perfect example of calm before the storm
I like how each loop have a different start

Post awareness. The person is totally lost in confusion. They don't recognize most of the family members and friends, they don't know what happened yesterday, or even today. But they can be in peace. They don't remember anything bad from the past. They forgot all things to worry about, so there is nothing to worry about. They are living lonely, everyone being strangers, but they in peace. Yeah , l agree . I think that there's a video on YT that tries to make the transition between Stage 4 and 5 more smooth , by switching the orders of Stage 4's tracks .
From what I’ve heard, each stage is meant to be listened at least a month apart, similarly to the time between each stage’s release, to mimic how someone might visit a grandparent suffering from dementia. I also used to believe it was meant to be in one sitting but I think that makes more sense, especially with the lack of smooth transitions.
