so the only trade off of the 7 seater is that second under seat storage at 1:17? -
Great vid. I haven’t seen any comparisons like this before.
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful
Great video & explanation!!! Many thanks.
Thank you for watching!!
Are the trunk side compartments different sizes between the two?
great videos thanks
Much appreciated!
Great video great cars
Papa Johns
awesome video! Finally saw some close up differences in the back. Is there much of a height difference in the back between the 2? wondering for camping purposes
Thank you. There is a slight height difference between the two by a couple inches or less, where the 3rd row would be.
Which one were you more interested in for camping?
Thanks for the info! I think the 7 seater is the way to go. I have 3 kids so if we want any guests the back row would make it possible. A couple inches of height loss is acceptable as I already have camped in my model 3. Looking to expand
Definitely sound like the way to go
hello, thank you for your vedio. Very nice and great cars. And can you please measure the second row and the third row seats of the model Y 7 seats? I would like to see how exact wide and height the seats are. Thank you so much.
Thanks for your patience. To answer your question, we decided it was easier to make a video based on your question. It's uploaded now, hope it answers your request
Can we install car booster seat in the third row?
I have seen other videos of people putting booster seats on the 3rd Row. I'm sure it all depends how big and wide the seat is
What is the width comparison of the way back between the arm rests of the 7 seater vs no arm rests of the 5 seater? You mentioned that it’s a bit narrower on the 7 seater; how much narrower is it?
Good question. We'll be measuring that soon
How much taller does the Model Y sit than the X? I rented a 2023 X and I hated to sit DOWN into the car (I have a Santa Fe SUV). Is the Model Y closer in normal height-wise vs. a sedan?
We'll have to get back to you on that. I know someone who has a model X. I do know that the 2 front seats lift pretty high on the model Y, if you choose to. It's definitely higher than a sedan. We'd say it's comparable to a Subaru SUV, a tallish car. Hope that helps
Does the second-row slide further back on the 7-passenger vs the 5?
On the 5 seat, the 2nd row doesn't slide. They are in a fixed position, with the option to recline slightly back. Meanwhile, the 7 seat, both slides and reclines.
With that said, either option, they are about the same distance when slid all the way back.
Yes it slides back an additional 1.1 inches. The 5 seater has 40.5” of legroom in second row and the 7 seat goes up and additional 1.1” to 41.6” total second row legroom. You gain an inch with the slide feature of the 7 seater. Which is huge for someone like myself that’s 6’3 with kids in rear facing car seats.
Thanks for the video! I was hoping that you would measure from the back of the front seat to the back of the car on both the five seater and the seven seater so that I would know what the cargo space is with the seats down on both cars.
Well. With the seats down, both the 5 and 7 seat have the same space. It's that on the 5 seat where the seats would had been there's and extra under-floor compartment. But the seat space is apportioned the same. For reference an air mattress is sold for the model y and accommodates 2. So that should give you a rough idea.
We'll try to measure, in the near future
@@PluginDuo so the only difference between them is just that extra seat row? But the car chassis is actually the same
@michaelganshin2017 it is a pricey option for what it is. But you're right. You get an extra row of foldable seats with a center cup holder and 2 usb-c ports and the 2nd row slides. Pretty much it. Chassis is the same
Tell Chrissy to take the hub caps off! Didn't know they were hub caps.
Haha, we are. We just need to get a hub cap kit. So hopefully soon they will be off...
Awesome review. Thanks! :)
Thanks for the support!
Great video! is the 7 seat cost more insurance than 5 seat ?
Ya about 20% more people of more liability with the HOA laws
thanks!@@GODMODEPLUS
So we looked over our policy and it only costs $75 additional every 6 months. Which ends up working to $12.51 more a month. Having said that, the 7 seat is a commuter car, vs. the 5 seat is for errands and shorter trips.
So it doesn't seem to affect much if any, I think its based more on the mileage driven.
But different insurance, cities, states....... so many variables. Hope that helps
Is the insurance more expensive on a Tesla than a comparable SUV/Cross over from your expensive?
@invent1977 Well, this is the first time we've had Suv's. But having said that, when we replaced our Volkswagen e-Golf with our first Tesla, the insurance actually went DOWN! We could believe it. Then, when we got our second Model Y to replace the Honda Clarity Plug-in, the insurance went up about $40 or $50. So, not much difference.
But as said before, there's so many variables. Hope this helps!
Thank you!
Very welcome!
Can't wait till the Juniper.
You and me both.
Can't wait, just read supposedly there's not gonna be a Juniper Update Model Y until 2025.
