Meatloaf was right when he said that this song should be sung as a duett.
With respect to Celine Dion, I believe this is the better rendition. Marion and Meat have a wonderful jive together, yielding a fantastic duet and emotional ride.

I love Celine Dion and her music forever. However, the grit with which Marion and Meatloaf sing this version evokes something in me. The chills crawled across my arms when they sang.

I can most definitely relate! Not taking away from the Celine Dion version which is great in itself but this version is on a whole other level altogether. Absolutely stunning! It made me cry too!
Few singers can touch Celine on a technical level but as a hard rocker/metalhead, I definitely dig this version over the original. Not to take away from Meat Loaf, either: in his prime, he could've sung opera but he still sounds good here.

Meat Loaf never fails to bring the passion and the magic. When he sings a duet, it truly is a collaboration...a conversation in song. I will miss him so much. I am so grateful for every note written by Jim and sung by Meat.

Jim Steinman actually sued Meatloaf to prevent him from recording this for many years, as Steinman believed this had to be done by a woman, first with his concept group Pandora's Box in 1989 and then Celiene Dion in 1996. THIS version from 2006 turned out to be the best.
I love all the songs of Meat Loaf he was a great performer and a great showman on stage he had a unique synergy with the public and us his fans, he leaves an invaluable legacy in music and in his artistic career
