Oh, you're such an intellectual! 🤗I love the way you got pretty much everything even without being that deep down the rabbit-hole of the Jungian theories. When you realized it was the Shadow rapping at the end, I shouted "yes!!!". Lol So, you know the next trailer they are releasing (Feb 2-3) is gonna be called Ego, right? It'll be the third song that deals with Jungian concepts. So I am here to tell you: PLEASE DO RM'S PERSONA MV before that. It's one of my favorite songs lyric-wise. And to contrast it with Shadow is even cooler! Also, about Yoongi's Shadows, I think there are two that catch my attention the most after reading the lyrics, watching the MV and remembering previous songs and interviews he did: greed (I wanna be king, I wanna be the top, I want it all mine) and social anxiety (I think the MV depicts pretty clearly how stressful their lives must be, full of flashlights and grabbing hands). 💜☂️
Well said! The flashlights is two-fold too, the anxiety and his dislike of people recording at the shows instead of watching them and really watching them and being in the moment.
I remember him talking about shadows in the 56th episode of Run when they read the letters/ poems to other members. I had to repeat multiple times the letters of V and Suga... now it's even more clear what he wanted to say.
BTS trailers are always full songs and solos. Seasoned Armies know this and have been going crazy after we found out that a trailer will be dropping. And yes Yoongi can sing. All idols take singing lessons as part of their training.
I found out that the trailer would be a full song mmhhhm maybe 3 hours before it was published and i FREAKED OUT i literally got so excited it shocked me so much XD Yeeeahhh my first comeback is kinda more exciting than i thought it would be.
It’s okay, I freaked out when he started singing too and I’m already excited for him to do this song live. Also, I noticed too in the lyrics, he starts speaking as himself, then when the sound changes to that much darker, heavier sound, it sounds like he’s speaking as his shadow, first mocking Yoongi by repeating the first lines of the song, then tells him they are one and he won’t ever leave him alone. If you notice too, theres a part in the video there Shadow Yoongi is in the crowd beneath Real Yoongi.
Oh man seeing you lose your shit over this is amazing. Welcome to your first comeback! Honestly, same though. I think I had a heart attack when I first watched it. The bass drop and the complete and utter beat switch at the end, holy shit. Him rapping as his own shadow, amazing. There's just so much to take in. It's a very intense experience, especially with the visuals of the mv. I really like this song and the lyrics and the honesty behind it. It's very raw. And I think your interpretation is pretty spot on. I remember after their performance at the AMA's in 2018, Suga said that he cried in the shower because he suddenly felt all the pressure from their success and how he was going to have to endure that in the future. And I feel like this song is an extension of that feeling. Of being afraid to succeed because there can be so much negativity that comes with success, but especially from within. It also reminds me his song The Last from his mixtape, it has very similar themes (particularly fame, success, social anxiety,). On a lighter note, seeing you being confused over Suga singing was great. He also sings in Outro: Tear with autotune and in his solo song Trivia: Seesaw. Hope you can make it through the next month with your sanity intact! You nice, keep going. Annyeong~~ 💜💜💜
I absolutely love Suga's depth of emotion. He doesn't seem to show it outwardly on a daily basis but his songs on the otherhand ,whew, are so deep, so revealing of the emotions he feels. His music/lyrics makes you feel like he is reaching out with both hands towards you to grab you, is pulling you in with a giant bear hug and saying this is me, this is what im all about. Love it!
As someone who has anxiety and is perfectionist this really hit hard, I still cant get over the raw emotion in his voice. Made my heart ache and also the visual side of this video is so damn full of brilliant symbolism. Also I think you got it right, that there are two sides of him, or more like the real Yoongi is the one above the crowd and then the shadow, which to me seems to be the personification of his inner demons, stands in the middle of that hostile crowd (hater/media/people who constantly analyse and criticize his every move) like his shadow belongs with them ad in the end of the video his shadow disappears among the crowd or merges with it...this is really something else. This is my first comeback too and like you, I was surprised how exited and jittery I felt while waiting for the video...and I also watched first as a whole, then reading the subs and then just taking in all the visual aspects...and again just because. But unlike you, I did all that while kinda crying, bc yeah this really made my heart hurt. And I kinda freaked out too when he started to sing even though I know he can do it, it sounded so good. Check out his Seesaw, it's one of my favourites from him/them, the lyrics are very deep and interesting in that too.
I took it as uncertainty, doubt, anxiety or just fear itself. Fear of falling or failing. This hit me really hard too! Was refreshing to read your comment as everyone is commenting about BTS or Suga's personal success woes. We forget that BTS are showing us the Map of the Soul and it's about everyone and their own shadows whatever they may be too!
@@Thaology I think there's a saying about the higher your social standing is the lonelier/afraid you are but I cant remember how it goes properly (or it could be that its a saying in my native language and thats why I cant seem to be able to put it into english words). Or perhaps that's just me rambling... Anyways I agree with your point about them showing the map of the soul and aahhh this is one of the reasons I fell for BTS, like how relatable this song can be for everyone but at the same time it's also highly personal for their own journey.
it was my first comeback too and being a yoongi stan ..i was so overwhelmed and emotional when i see yoongi in thumbnail..i thought wow soo yoongi goona be more in it and then i played it ,it was all him 🥺
In Jungian psychology the Shadow is the part of yourself that you hide because you don't feel safe expressing it (contrasted with the Persona which is a set of characteristics you adopt because society approves of them). But for characters who outwardly express those hidden qualities (like aggression) and reject the traditional Persona, the Shadow self is actually the vulnerable part that they try to suppress. The process of Individuation includes embracing all parts of the Self. I didn't realize he was rapping as the Shadow at the end so thanks for that. 😉
The beginning of melody they used their old one from ( INTRO: ORUL82 ) because they mentioned back in time , he opening the new era with a music video full of social criticism, covering topics such as invasion of privacy .
this song it's about the dark side of fame, how yoongi wanted "to be on top, to be king" but now he feels isolated and scared because of all the eyes fixed on them
Well most of their songs can be read under different light. It doesn't mean that it's wrong. Especially this one, there is so many level of reading it!
MiiinnnYoooooNgiiiii👋So different Its DOPE,Its FIRE , O.M.G...Lit Yes you RAP🔥🔥🔥 You Rockstar,You King,You TOP,You Rich You Win...Youuuuu yesss youuu love ur Self💜🔥
Great reaction man. Loving your interpretation. I find lyrics in this interlude to be rather chilling. Suga can be very raw in his delivery and that´s one of the reasons why I love and admire him so. His message in this song is clearly linked to what he has been rapping about already years back on his mixed tape - about chasing a dream and trying to find a purpose in life and happiness as an artist, always running in a dark tunnel, trying to reach the light at the end, realizing that all ambition, hard work and getting there can´t fill that big hole inside, thinking that maybe dreaming in itself is way better that actually reaching your dream/ goal in life because getting on top doesn´t feel the way you imagined > loneliness, pressure, fear of failure and letting people / fans/ BTS down. He must have felt like this for years but back then it was content of his solo AgustD mix tape, now it might be a general theme of the whole comeback - dark side of their fame and what came with it.
This was my favorite of all your reactions. You just epitomized what was going on in every single ARMY's mind today. 😆 Glad you're finally giving my boy Yoongi some love.
He is talking about the price he has to pay for achieving his dreams. The brighter the light the darker the shadows he has. The price he has to pay as no one told him that it is lonely at the top and now he is afraid that he might fall down from the top.
Compared to all of those other reaction videos out there. I think yours is the best. You said all the words I wanna hear. You talk like you know what is going on. I like that 👍🏻
I appreciate you so much for acknowledging the key change and how he becomes the shadow rapping. I caught that the first listen and been waiting on someone to elaborate on it.
You're the first reaction I watched after seeing the MV bc I was so excited to get your take! Interesting as always! I'm so happy you're enjoying and digging into the wonderful world of BTS!
I can finally watch this!! I've been so busy. I LOVE this reaction, I LOVED your reaction to Suga singing because I feel like it's a huge deal. I think usually when he sings it's a more subtle part where he's not meant to be the main focus, or he's being silly. He kind of rides the line between being silly and seriously singing in the Otsukare Song, and in his solo Seesaw he sings a bit, but not to this extent. Not seriously, rawly singing. That part really hit me in Interlude: Shadow. I definitely think the main theme of Shadow is that Suga is still, ongoing, dealing with his own shadows and demons. But the interesting thing about the imagery portrayed is that it kind of tells a second story about how the media doesn't exactly help his struggles. All of his demons on top of dealing with the pressure of people literally pointing cameras at him 24/7. There's a part in the lyrics you didn't comment on that sticks with me the most from the song, while he's singing: "The moment I face myself brought lowest / it so happens that I'm flying the highest." (The Korean is hard for me to translate, but that's how they've translated it) ... Like, he's telling us, even though I'm at the top of my game, I'm still facing my hardest struggles. Which is something I think a lot people, artists or otherwise, relate to. How often it is that, coincidentally, we fight the hardest battles during what should be the happiest parts of our lives. Or, at least, that's how it struck me! As for the Light vs Dark thing--People have also been commenting about how it's like Suga is portraying the multiple facets of his public persona in this video. That fine line between who he is as Suga of BTS, who he is as a solo artist called Agust D, and who he actually is as the real human being Yoongi. I don't have much of an opinion on this theory, but it's kind of interesting to think about. Sorry for the long-ass comment. Thanks as always for your reaction x) 고마워요!
The part when you was questioning if yoongi can sing !!! that was hilarious ! You were like focusing on the screen trying to figureviut if the face is really for yoongi !!! Yes he is a rapper and can sing !! All of them are .. the vocalists like v and kookie can rap too !!
You're genuine and perceptive. It's why I like you. How Yoongi portrayed both his outer and inner conflicts are beautiful. I loved how his voice sounded singing in English especially in the beginning. It was so cold!💜
This is my first comeback too ....and this is amazing ...why am I so excited?!!!🤤🤤🤤😨😨💜💜💜 .. it's just a different universe ... everyone who is in Army we live on another planet exactly ... and I'm damn glad .... planet BTS ... Yungi, I already translated your song and I understand you say ... even though I can’t imagine how to be you ... it’s very difficult ... but thank you for your honesty and crazy work ..And don't be afraid flying high ...you not alone ...your shadow becames a beautiful monster ...not scary monster ... OMG THIS COMEBACK AM GOING TO DIE ....and this is only the beginning, but my heart is already jumping out of my chest ... I think with confessions like this in the end, we will all appreciate the help😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍....Omg BTS LOVE LOVE 💜💜💜💜💜
I’m from South Carolina. I noticed your Myrtle Beach sweatshirt! I absolutely can’t get enough of this song! It’s too good! Your perspective on the lyrics is spot on! Great job!
OMG what an amazing analyse of Suga's lyrics so so spot on!!! I was almost crying from how you worked out what the Shadow means!!! Thank you for this! Going to share your reaction now!! YOU ROCK!!! xoxo
This song addressed multiple issues, from saesangs, pitfalls of being at the top and his personal battle with Depression, even dissing Army. He has said in an interview that he doesn't think his Depression will ever go away. The last minute of the mv where the beat moved faster and visuals shifted to something sinister, that is a clear reference to his Depression talking to him. The lyrics say it all. His Depression is his Shadow. According to Jung, Persona is the public face. Shadow is the opposite - our hidden side, or dark side. So you are right. How he dissed Army? Suga asked Army (in vlive) who attended their shows to stop putting up their mobile fones to record, and to watch BTS with their eyes instead. Refer to that last scene with all the fones. I'm pretty sure the 3rd album to MOTS will deal with "anima" and "self".
I wonder how much his social anxiety still effects him, too. That shit doesn't entirely vanish, even with intensive therapy and repeated positive experiences. My eyes are always drawn to Suga when his face and body language and behaviour express his discomfort. It's part of who he is, and he's an amazing artist in spite of/because of it.
My 2 cents on the cell phones: 1) Yoongi has said in concerts that he wants people to watch with their eyes, not their phones. 2) Yoongi has said he suffered from social anxiety so being in crowds is very difficult. Can you imagine how a person who already suffers feels having phones and cameras in his face everywhere he goes? That last scene feels like he is being consumed by the phones/cameras.
I had to watch at least 300 times. This killed me. I feel you and yes he can sing check out seesaw or first love two other tracks he sings in. But like this went hard lyrically and emotionally and it hits you physically in the soul.
I've loved your reaction, how you were geniunely excited and impatient to watch it, how you've interpreted the song and everything. Also, Suga can definitely sing, look up Seesaw! Thank you for reacting so promptly (we know that you were at your workplace lol)
I feel you! This is also my first comeback, and I am crying! I almost screamed at work, and I have three employees under my command this would be awkward😅
Suga’s versatility is incredible - he’s such a talented, complex person and I love that he’s always open to experiment musically. He says that he tries to write a new song pretty much everyday, and I feel like that hard work and passion really shine through in his music. Great reaction - I really enjoy hearing your thoughts and theories! This comeback’s going to be the biggest one yet - we’re even getting another trailer (my guess is jhope outro: ego) and a full single before the album drops! We’re so spoiled 😁
fyi: rapline can sing evidences: RM (i know - duet with Jungkook, 4 o’clock - duet with V, the Mono Playlist has a different side of RM) SUGA (trivia: seesaw, otsukare - duet with JHope) JHOPE is actually a sub vocalist aside being a dance leader and rapper, his raps is you know can be categorize as melodic rap a fusion of rap and singing. 💜💜
I sooo love your reactions! It looks like I was watching myself when I saw it the same time! We're overwhelmed too and yeah cursed way a lot more than usual hahaha and yeah Suga is absolutely singing! The voice lessons paid off! You are so real with your reactions, Luvit! 💜💜💜
Ahhh this is one of my favorite songs. I love when Suga sings. Loved your reaction - you’re pretty much the bar now when it comes to reactors. No one measures up lol.
Love this! I was blown away by this trailer and watched it twice with no captions then once with. Thank you for the comments on the musicality of this for those of us who aren’t musically inclined🤣. Not sure if you saw the interview with Yoongi from about a year ago but he talked about how after one of their “mountain top” experiences, he felt lonely and cried in the shower because he was so scared of where they had climbed to. He refers to this in the lyrics for the trailer and I’m thinking that was one inspiration for this. Thanks again, you are one of my favorite reactors ☺️
Love your reaction, I had the same feeling, so quick with your thinking, working out the meaning behind the lyrics. This is my first comeback and I can't stop watching it, Yoongi is so intelligent, creative and a talented performer too. I'm blown away at how good it is. Army💜
I am so jazzed for this comeback! This will be my first BTS comeback too and I already preorder all 4 versions of the new album. So excited to see more reactions from you!
I've already stopped this a minute in to say this.....I'm an ARMY & this is my 4th comeback with the boys, & it will NEVER get less entertaining to watch people go through a comeback that never has before. I love this, it's my favorite thing lmao because YOU WILL NOT BE PREPARED. You may think you will be, you can try....but - especially with THIS cb & how different it is from any others they've done - oh baby....you're going to be losing your shit for the next couple of months, especially with all the stuff they plan on dropping lmao. Just hold on as best you can & enjoy the ride! lol
A first comeback is always so exciting! And what a huge cb you are experiencing! This trailer is incredible, Yoongi is brilliant - Map of the Soul: 7 is going to be EPIC. :)
Your insight is one of the reasons I subscribed to your channel (+ you fell down the Bangtan rabbit hole shortly after I did and I was enjoying seeing someone else go through it 😂). Your reaction’s been the most spot on with Yoongi’s shadow rapping. The bass drop in both the song and his voice?-absolutely messed me up. Also, your reaction to his singing was all of ARMY 😂
I love the MV. It’s like it gives you an insight of how there lives are like. Constant spotlights, constant followers and constant ppl taking pictures of them. It’s like they can’t even run away if they wanted too. 🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
I have been through every comeback and it gets worse/better every time. My favorite album is Wings, but this one looks like it will overshadow even that. Dark, honest, and deep.
I feel like ALL the Shadow references, both in the lyrics and as images, represent both Yoongi's shadow selves (flaws, self-destructive thoughts, greed, insecurities, etc.) AND those fans who have succumbed to the shadow of obsession by invading his privacy, grabbing for him, thrusting cameras in his face, thinking they own and are entitled to him. So those masked figures are his insecurities figuratively and those obsessed fans more literally. Both try to drag him down. The shadow Yoongi rapping at the end says "I am you and you are me," as the darker side telling Yoongi he can't get rid of his shadow, but it's also like how obsessed fans go so deep as wanting to possess their idol, and merge with them (often through murder-suicides so their souls can be together in the afterlife). Also, I notice that 'I am you, you are me" is used often in Korean pop culture as an expression of romantic love. Like twin souls, inseperable. Which just makes the concept way more twisted and intense. This is heavy af and I am HERE FOR IT! I like the darker, more broody or melancholy or heavy BTS music as well. Great reaction!
the metaphorical interpretation of the dark figures as his shadow or his dark sides is quite obvious but there is also a lot more literal interpretation of them being his fans, specifically stalkers. the scene at the beginning where all the figures stand in front of the hotel doors looking through the peepholes, that shit actually happens to them a lot. those hands always reaching towards him when he's in public, the phones always pointing at him, all of that I believe is a huge part of the dark side of his success that he wanted so badly, not just his inner turmoil.
The whole shadow and persona thing are from a psychological theory by Carl Jung They use his studies of humans personality, self consciousness, dreams and society to make their songs I hope I wrote this right 😂
What I appreciate about BTS so much is that people and fans started to get into their lyrics unlike before when we listen to kpop songs, we only focus on the catchy beat and chorus and the sound basically. But with BTS, we learn to appreciate the impact of their lyrics. I respect them so much for excellently using music as their platform to express themselves and make a statement and a movement.
I find it so fascinating that we as older army (age based) get so inspired and hyped up. I mean not every artist can do it, but with BTS everybody can relate in some way and that is just so amazing
So happy you reacted to this. I am watching your reaction in between views of the actual video cause we need to help our guys trend 💜. The “O!RUL8,2?” Imagery goes back to their older album of that name and has some of the N.O. Vibes..... I luv his rap, and yes, yes he CAN sing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Have you seen “Seasaw”? There is a ton of symbolism here of course.... part of me feels like (just my opinion) that he is also addressing the success he wants and has achieved with the dark side of obtaining it and how much harder it can get the higher you climb, so as you achieve more the light shines on you more and more which makes the shadow darker and bigger and invites more negativity and criticism from those trying to tear you down.... and also brings out more people trying to ride your success and attach themselves to you so there is conflict between what you want to achieve and the baggage that can come with obtaining it.... and the risk of losing yourself in that darkness so that you are only a shadow of who you were or who you want to be.... 🙅🏻♀️☮️🤟🏼💜. And thank you for getting the translations from the subs instead of lyric videos.... better guarantee of getting what the translations really are as well as give the official MV view count. Luv your thoughtful reactions. Enjoy!
Hey, you got it. A lot of people don't realise at the end it is his shadow speaking to him and that they cannot be separated. I love this, looking forward to the rest of the comeback, they are Kings!
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but the rotoscoped/glitch letters that appear is ORUL82? - the name of BTS' first full album or where the group started (2 Cool 4 Skool is technically a single album), also the name of the intro track that has the lyrics "Put your hand on your heart And ask what you dream was What it really was." I think this pairs nicely with Suga's other solo trailer Nevermind. In that track its about the struggle of pushing towards the goal of getting to the top, where Shadow is the pressure of being or staying there. If you like how Suga takes on another voice in the song I, again, recommend First Love (but I won't say more than that so I don't spoil it).
HAD TO WATCH IT TWICE... NEED TO WATCH IT 3,744 MORE TIMES NOW BYE
MOOD.
Every army now 😂
The Champ Of Medium it’s a big time bop 🔥
i can watch it 1million times hahahahahaah lol

RM is my second fave singer in BTS. Have you listened to "Mono" yet??? A masterpiece!!!
So true. Shadow is my favorite of Yoongi's. But The Last and First Love are right up there too. Its the emotions.
Yoongi: “I wanna be a king”
“Oh baby you already are”
Omg I yelled😂
YESSSS
"Is that Yoongi? Can he sing??"
Me: *nods in Seesaw*
Lara Russ **nods in outro: tear**
*Nods in his new album*
Hell yeah he can 💜💜💜
Same here😂
oh my god i'm so happy when you realize and said "oh he's rapping as the shadow now"
I literally screamed FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT.
Nice reaction dude!
He's rare 🤣, he's one of the few reactor who got that.
maybe because hes a metal musician rock music has a lot of metaphoric lyrics and symbolism
He: Is he singing? Can he sing?
Me: Duhh!!
If he hasn't seen seesaw then this is reaction is his equivalent.

"Don't worry baby you already are."
Yes yes yes me. 💜💜💜💜💙💙💙💙
this song it's about the dark side of fame, how yoongi wanted "to be on top, to be king" but now he feels isolated and scared because of all the eyes fixed on them
Well most of their songs can be read under different light. It doesn't mean that it's wrong. Especially this one, there is so many level of reading it!
LostCaroll I totally agree!
The guitar at d background when yoongi sing...im dead

You should listen to seasaw if you wanna hear Suga sing more, great reactions as always!
Welcome to your first comeback! Its gonna be a long ride! Enjoy the rollercoaster.
OMG, when you said "He's rapping as the shadow" I totally get it now.I didn't even catch that. Thanks!!
Suga sings on several tracks. Love your reaction!!!!!
Yes, Suga was singing. FYI, all three rappers in BTS can sing, they just won't admit it.
This was my favorite of all your reactions. You just epitomized what was going on in every single ARMY's mind today. 😆
Glad you're finally giving my boy Yoongi some love.
Yoongi said recently that he got a vocal coach to improve his singing. These boys are always seeking ways to improve their craft
I like that 👍🏻
Yes. Yes he can sing. Rap line can sing...
💯💯
I appreciate you so much for acknowledging the key change and how he becomes the shadow rapping. I caught that the first listen and been waiting on someone to elaborate on it.
seeing you get same stress and anticipation we get each comeback season is so cute!!
this whole reaction vid is a wholesome energy
You're the first reaction I watched after seeing the MV bc I was so excited to get your take! Interesting as always! I'm so happy you're enjoying and digging into the wonderful world of BTS!
The brighter the light shines, the bigger the shadows grow.
There are so many awesome Point of views in this, and this is probably the best review of this video that I've seen so far.
I literally love your personality
Thanks homey
The part when you was questioning if yoongi can sing !!! that was hilarious ! You were like focusing on the screen trying to figureviut if the face is really for yoongi !!!
Yes he is a rapper and can sing !!
All of them are .. the vocalists like v and kookie can rap too !!
I made it 48 seconds after it posted!!
Edit: When that beat came down I felt that in my body. This was amazing!
i made it 10 seconds after you did 🤙😭
I freaking love you man haha. Your reaction is so pure aahh hahah!!
I love you too! haha
You're genuine and perceptive. It's why I like you. How Yoongi portrayed both his outer and inner conflicts are beautiful. I loved how his voice sounded singing in English especially in the beginning. It was so cold!💜
YES! He's rapping as the shadow! At least, that's also what I thought. Have fun at your first comeback. 😂 💜
Ahhh so endearing to watch you genuinely freak out and fan boy over this. I feel you, my guy. I feel you.
I think with confessions like this in the end, we will all appreciate the help😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍....Omg BTS LOVE LOVE 💜💜💜💜💜
haha this is the feeling, my darling!! xD
I actually cried with pride when I watched this, it was everything I wanted in a reaction to this.....bravo!
ok...your reactions have officially just become my favorite!!
YOU ROCK!!! xoxo
The lyrics is so deep it gave me chills and tears started rolling down my cheeks.
My 2 cents on the cell phones:
1) Yoongi has said in concerts that he wants people to watch with their eyes, not their phones.
THIS VIDEO IS SOO GOOD. YOONGI IS SOO GOOD
OMG i read so many theories about this and you completely got it in the second watch LIKE HOW
I forgot you haven't reacted to Seesaw. Lol Yes, Yoongi can sing. The rapline is great at pretending they can't, but they so can. Loved your reaction!
We’re so spoiled 😁
fyi: rapline can sing
evidences: RM (i know - duet with Jungkook, 4 o’clock - duet with V, the Mono Playlist has a different side of RM)
SUGA (trivia: seesaw, otsukare - duet with JHope)
JHOPE is actually a sub vocalist aside being a dance leader and rapper, his raps is you know can be categorize as melodic rap a fusion of rap and singing. 💜💜
What breaks me is that this song is literally SUGA vs SUGA and it’s really sad and scary
Your reactions and analysis-- spot on....thank you fir being an army and supporting our boys!
Next one ‘SEESAW’ by Suga then. He sings, indeed :)
So excited to see more reactions from you!
your interpretation is spot on! im impressed bc i dont expect ppl to actually try to parse through the video & lyrics as thoroughly as this. thank you
I've already stopped this a minute in to say this.....I'm an ARMY & this is my 4th comeback with the boys, & it will NEVER get less entertaining to watch people go through a comeback that never has before. Just hold on as best you can & enjoy the ride! lol
Happy First Comeback, my friend!💜
A first comeback is always so exciting! And what a huge cb you are experiencing! This trailer is incredible, Yoongi is brilliant - Map of the Soul: 7 is going to be EPIC. :)
Thank you for being the only reaction I've seen that GETS it
BTS has 7 vocalists
7 rappers
7 visuals
7 great dancers
7 songwriters
7 producers
7 can play instruments
Your insight is one of the reasons I subscribed to your channel (+ you fell down the Bangtan rabbit hole shortly after I did and I was enjoying seeing someone else go through it 😂). Your reaction’s been the most spot on with Yoongi’s shadow rapping. The bass drop in both the song and his voice?-absolutely messed me up. Also, your reaction to his singing was all of ARMY 😂
For added context about his shadow monster: yoongi’s talked about having depression and anxiety (especially social anxiety) in his mixtape
Welcome and get on the ride. This is gonna be crazy
So many ways you could look at this song and meaning
And they’re back🤟🏼💜
I love the MV.
This is an interlude... I don’t think I’m prepared for what comes before and after it 🤦🏻♀️
I feel like ALL the Shadow references, both in the lyrics and as images, represent both Yoongi's shadow selves (flaws, self-destructive thoughts, greed, insecurities, etc.) AND those fans who have succumbed to the shadow of obsession by invading his privacy, grabbing for him, thrusting cameras in his face, thinking they own and are entitled to him.
The whole shadow and persona thing are from a psychological theory by Carl Jung
They use his studies of humans personality, self consciousness, dreams and society to make their songs
I hope I wrote this right 😂
What I appreciate about BTS so much is that people and fans started to get into their lyrics unlike before when we listen to kpop songs, we only focus on the catchy beat and chorus and the sound basically.
I really like your interpretation of the lyrics 💜💜💜 it helped me understand 😊
Thank you for the reaction! The comeback is going to be epic!! 💜
Enjoy!
I love seeing everyone shocked and speachless after saw the trailer😂😂😂
I was waiting for this reaction!! So glad it didn’t take long! Thank you so much💜
you never forget ur first comeback 🥺
Hey, you got it. A lot of people don't realise at the end it is his shadow speaking to him and that they cannot be separated. I love this, looking forward to the rest of the comeback, they are Kings!
You're one of the few reactors who gets it just by watching it for the first time! 👏👏👏
I knew he can sing, i fall deeper to suga boy, u 're rich and u're definitely that king, fighting !!
Im glad you can catch the mean of the lyrics exactly, while the others mess and tricky by the lyrics in the ending part... Salute to u🙌
I love every you reaction or discribe BTS video music.. borahae💜💜💜
