Just popping in to say that I made an arch, of rusty iron. It was the fall 2 years ago. I went to the garden center, they sell plants at a discount in the fall. I bought a clematis, I think its called snow queen. Now it is so big you cant see the arch, and I have to prune it back regularly. It is just beautiful I dont even water it. 😍 Have a wonderful weekend.

Our well motor went out last night so we are without water. The temperature is 105 here in Texas and rain is not forecast. Watching you stand in the rain and imagining how it feels and smells in such a green place made me a little green. Hubby bought a new motor, but it’s too hot for two senior citizens to pull and replace the motor. Hubby plans to do it in the cooler time tomorrow morning. I’m dreaming of a shower or at least the ability to wash my hair. The sink is full of dishes and life is inconvenient at the moment, but it will be fixed soon enough. Can’t ever take our blessings for granted. Praying for rain now!

Having no water is awful, been there. I felt your suffering through this. But, we make do and do what we can. And yes, we appreciate it more when we do get it back. The simple things we take for granted, until we no longer have them, change your mindset (at least for me). I love your videos. Keep doing you. ❤
Tip: For smells inside purses - after cleaning the bag - spray a washcloth with 'Fabreeze' (unscented) and leave it inside the bag for a day or so - you could also put the bag in the sun, as long as it won't fade. I think your metal archway is going to work perfectly for you - once the flowers start making their way around it - just be sure that it is stuck in the ground far enough (wind) - P.S. Loved the fringe you put on your sofa in your last video & that sweet thrifted pillow.

That rain "shower" looked so refreshing! When we were kids we would love that. So many cute finds in the thrift stores, I could spend an hour or two looking through it all. LOL. Little Charlie is so adorable, he just fit perfectly in that bag. That archway looks very nice, my brother has one and he put a hummingbird feeder on one side. The dragon flys and twined twigs are adorable. Just a thought….what if you crushed up the flowers for perfume with a mortar & pestle first to release their goodness or maybe even a small electric grinder and then let them sit in a carrier oil for a month. Hopefully the scent would be much greater.

Yay for running water!!! I'm excited to have another North NJ thrift store to check out too! By the way, in the off chance you did get a really crazy storm and needed to shelter in your cottage, tipping the sofa or pulling your mattress off partway and getting under the "cave" is the safest thing! It buffers you from a lot of pointier things and gives some good protection from windows.
I've lived in the south all my life so I'm use to the catastrophic weather mindset. If you get the warnings again you should carry all the cushions and pillows you have into your bathroom to put over yourself and Charlie. It will shield you both somewhat from any flying glass should the glass break. I think you chose the best room you could. they say to get in the tub and cover yourself with a mattress but a big mattress is too heavy for some of us to move alone so the couch cushions and pillows is the next best thing. Maybe the water situation is Spirit nudging you to learn new ways of replacing the systems we have in place now with ways from the past in case we might need that knowledge in the future. As always your video was a very welcome sight. I find your photography very relaxing and your voice as well. Hoping that you and Charlie stay safe and have a wonderful rest of your summer as well as the beginning of fall.

I adore your garden, sorry the deer keep eating your flowers. I tried taking a spray bottle adding water and several drops of Lavender oil, I shake it well and spray it around the flowers I don't want the deer to eat, it seems to work but has to be reapplied fairly often. If you try this just do it on a small area first because I'm not sure how the oil will affect your flowers. I was putting it on my Hosta lilies. I just love your Charlie he is so cute. I am glad you finally have water, I can't imagine how bad that must have been. Enjoy your week end. God Bless.

I got one of those archways and reslly secured it down well and put plastic covered wire mesh over it secured with cable ties and it was fab with jasmine and another climber going over it x

Water sure is a huge blessing! I’m so glad yours is back. We lost water and it made me wonder what would happen if we truly lost it for a good while. I bought those clean water straws on Amazon that you can clean 2,000 gallons each with- and they’re portable and can go in your bag. I also have a Berkey gravity fed water filter that can clean pond water to drinkable and safe if need be. I probably worried too much about that- but if you know, you know! Your thrift finds are superb 🎉 blessings to you this week ❤
You're smart! I should get one of those straws! I have a Berkley and use it for the well water. But I wasn't brave enough to use it with the collected rain water!❤❤❤

Great video! If you loose water again due to a leak or electric outage, you can put up a tarp to capture rain water and place a 5 gallon plastic bucket under it to collect a lot of rain water. It would be a good lesson to test out in case you need it again. 💖🤗🐕

I have the same arches connecting my raised bed gardens. I have wrapped them with chicken wire, put solar fairy lights on them, and let my veggies grow up the sides. They are beautiful!

Dearest Kate, if you add four wrought iron steaks at the base of your arch, it will tolerate any weight you put on it and last as long as the expensive ones last. I have one just like that that I’ve had for 20 years. All I had to do was add the stakes at the base and I have two jasmine plants that have done remarkably well on such a lightweight arch. The rain is so soothing. Your garden is lovely. Very green and lush. did you know to keep the marigold flower heads. Once dry you can store them to plant next spring. They are very hardy.
If you ever find yourself with out water again theres a good ole camping shower you can hook up in your shower they have a pump out of a 5 gallon bucket they work pretty good in a pinch.

Yay for running water!!! I'm excited to have another North NJ thrift store to check out too! By the way, in the off chance you did get a really crazy storm and needed to shelter in your cottage, tipping the sofa or pulling your mattress off partway and getting under the "cave" is the safest thing! It buffers you from a lot of pointier things and gives some good protection from windows.

I've lived in the south all my life so I'm use to the catastrophic weather mindset. If you get the warnings again you should carry all the cushions and pillows you have into your bathroom to put over yourself and Charlie. It will shield you both somewhat from any flying glass should the glass break. I think you chose the best room you could. they say to get in the tub and cover yourself with a mattress but a big mattress is too heavy for some of us to move alone so the couch cushions and pillows is the next best thing.
Maybe the water situation is Spirit nudging you to learn new ways of replacing the systems we have in place now with ways from the past in case we might need that knowledge in the future.
As always your video was a very welcome sight. I find your photography very relaxing and your voice as well.

I adore your garden, sorry the deer keep eating your flowers. I tried taking a spray bottle adding water and several drops of Lavender oil, I shake it well and spray it around the flowers I don't want the deer to eat, it seems to work but has to be reapplied fairly often. If you try this just do it on a small area first because I'm not sure how the oil will affect your flowers. I was putting it on my Hosta lilies. I just love your Charlie he is so cute. I am glad you finally have water, I can't imagine how bad that must have been. Enjoy your week end. God Bless.

I got one of those archways and reslly secured it down well and put plastic covered wire mesh over it secured with cable ties and it was fab with jasmine and another climber going over it x

Glad you have your water back now. I hope that archway holds up for you...that was a great price. It's going to look so pretty and cottagy once the plants are grown up and over it. Charlie is a smart little guy....knowing he'd get a snack when he'd go in the carrier. That's probably why he wanted to stay in it. lol
Water sure is a huge blessing! I’m so glad yours is back. We lost water and it made me wonder what would happen if we truly lost it for a good while. I bought those clean water straws on Amazon that you can clean 2,000 gallons each with- and they’re portable and can go in your bag. I also have a Berkey gravity fed water filter that can clean pond water to drinkable and safe if need be. I probably worried too much about that- but if you know, you know! Your thrift finds are superb 🎉 blessings to you this week ❤
You're smart! I should get one of those straws! I have a Berkley and use it for the well water. But I wasn't brave enough to use it with the collected rain water!❤❤❤

I can survive for a while without food…but not water …and if I have to walk home, I would dehydrate 😁 my 3am musings💧and correction…it’s 5,000 liters per straw which is about 1300 gallons. 🙃 that’s a lot of water!

Great video! If you loose water again due to a leak or electric outage, you can put up a tarp to capture rain water and place a 5 gallon plastic bucket under it to collect a lot of rain water. It would be a good lesson to test out in case you need it again. 💖🤗🐕

I have the same arches connecting my raised bed gardens. I have wrapped them with chicken wire, put solar fairy lights on them, and let my veggies grow up the sides. They are beautiful!

Dearest Kate, if you add four wrought iron steaks at the base of your arch, it will tolerate any weight you put on it and last as long as the expensive ones last. I have one just like that that I’ve had for 20 years. All I had to do was add the stakes at the base and I have two jasmine plants that have done remarkably well on such a lightweight arch. The rain is so soothing. Your garden is lovely. Very green and lush. did you know to keep the marigold flower heads. Once dry you can store them to plant next spring. They are very hardy.

If you ever find yourself with out water again theres a good ole camping shower you can hook up in your shower they have a pump out of a 5 gallon bucket they work pretty good in a pinch.
