As an artist and illustrator who has written and illustrated books…I think the world needs a children’s book series on Charlie Chihuahua who thinks he is much bigger than he actually is - and all of his adventures with his beautiful mama. You should turn that into a reality! I know I would buy them for the little ones I know and love 💕

There's nothing missing when you're "single" until you think there is. Our thoughts don't always have our best interests at heart. Too much societal conditioning (and pressures) to conform to outdated traditions. When you are in tune with Nature to your very core (as you are Kate) being "single" becomes meaningless because single doesn't exist in a storm or the wind or a rainbow or the wild critters you encounter on a walk or when you're joyously dancing like nobody's watching! You are a photographer and a content creator. That's two careers. Looks to me like you have a full life. Our society gets our heads mixed up.....everyone is different. I used to tell my daughter not to settle....being single is great too. Now at 40 she met someone and is expecting. Never thought it would happen. Life is full of surprises especially when you're not looking for it.

I love watching your adventures and your bravery of doing things alone. I have been a widow for 7 years now. I am living on Social Security (my husband's illness took all our retirement money.) with prices going up I am having to find ways to make ends meet... It's not easy...but it will be ok...
I wrote 92 books and self-published them all on Kindle. Three are paperbacks and the others are electronic books because they are in a shorter format. The publishing industry has changed (I started in 2010) and now people have the power to create and get their stuff "out there" rather than waiting for a publishing company to publish their book. The motivation for publishing houses is to make money. Creators are looking for something else. I learned everything from writing, editing, formatting, designing my own book covers and then uploading my books onto Amazon. It was a learning curve for sure, but eventually my books cost me $0 to produce and download. They are also international as well.

Hi! I am writing to tell you how much I enjoyed this video. I was a senior technical writer for many years and retired from that profession. I am now 77 years old with ataxia and use a walker to compensate for loss of balance. I felt like you were writing to me and I just wanted to give you a big verbal hug and tell you to keep finding the joy in your life and you will never regret it. Things like RUclips and internet travel did not exist for much of my life and my husband (who is 81) and I often talk about how differently we would have lived our life if we had been exposed to all the opportunities. Due to health reasons and lack of knowledge, we did not travel as much as we would have. We always thought we would love to visit Italy but we kept on delaying it. Then our age got in the way. Now we watch The Positano Dairies on RUclips every Sunday and "pretend" we are there. I hope you travel, experience many things and never regret anything. My daughter (who is 42) also cannot have "cow" dairy, but she can have goat cheese (and maybe sheep?) That salad looks delicious and is exactly the type of food we eat here at our house! YUM!

I haven't had a career since I left healthcare. I work 2 jobs right now, to put some money away and to allow myself to pursue my creative self- photography, drawing, acrylics, a little sewing- which translates to my sanity staying happy and a little bit of money. I never was the kid who grew up and said I want to do that thing. I still can't answer that at 50. I've been like this my whole life and I can honestly say, my life has been much fuller, removing the career thing. I think we are more aware of the important things in life.
Yes : ) I agree! It's the same for me, too ... I'm just happier taking the idea of "career" out of my life. I just need to pay the bills and if I can do it in a joyful way, then even better!❤❤❤

Very fun video 🙂. Your free form happy dancing and the storms brought back a childhood memory. When we had a summer storm, and the wind would begin to blow before the rain, next door neighbor kids and my brother and I would become leaves swirling and twirling being blown about every which way all around our adjoining back yards. Such happy times. I think that kind of movement is good for the soul. Freedom. I enjoy making different kinds of books and jewelry. My eldest son and his wife like to travel and camp. I'm about to create a travel journal for them. Along the lines of a faux midori / paper dori. I've seen a couple artists use soy wax to lightly coat the cover of their journals to protect the paper. I want to try that.
Oooh ... that sounds like a fun thing to try!!!!!! And I always loved summer storms as a child, too. We were always allowed to stay out unless we saw lightening. But it was just so exciting when those first winds blew!❤❤❤

Thank you for instigating such a warm and beautiful community, credit to your authenticity and lovely gentle way. I saw that the video had been uploaded on Friday, but saved it to watch Saturday morning with my husband and son. They're not bothered about watching some of the other stuff I watch, but they love your videos. My son is 14 and loves gaming, but he enjoys listening to you. I feel your experiences and wisdom reach out to him. Also the link with nature. I too loved your joy at the rain storm, it's infectious. I love your art work, if you do develop a website I would be interested, as I'm in the UK and can't access your mailings, which I understand as it would get crazy having to mail across the world! I loved the porch concerts, there seemed to be such a lovely atmosphere, your friends seem so lovely. I think working for yourself and not being contracted is better, it can open up some financial insecurity but gives you flexibility and freedoms. As long as you live within your means. I am a short term, daily supply /substitute primary school teacher and I am the main provider, my husband manages the home and was the main caregiver when my son was small. He does some part time labouring but is always there if my son is sick from school. We live in a small house and live within our means. Full time contracted teaching jobs are just too stressful for me. You are very talented Kate, but it's best I think to work to live rather than live to work. I think you have created a beautiful life for yourself. You remind me so much of my daughter. She is trying to carve out a career for herself doing what she loves to do. She is a creative soul like you. Years ago I wrote a handful of poems that I have treasured all these years. I have recently decided I want to publish them and am looking into my options. I wanted to be a writer when I was a kid but I was told I wasn't good enough and I believed it. As I get old(er) I have been trying to find the dreams of that young girl and make them come true. It is an amazing journey. Maybe this is what is called "finding yourself".

People order online and money is deposited into your account. We used Smashwords but there are many.
I'm 63 and an independent contractor in the gig economy. I've been a sole proprietor of my own business for 25 years as well. I agree with everything you say and more. Please make sure you are saving for retirement. I know its hard when life is so expensive already but putting aside more when you are younger does usually make for a better quality of life when you are older. I am hoping I have enough saved and that my Social Security benefits combined will allow me to stay where I am and age well. I dont need alot...not that interested in international travel or having fancy things, but Medicare alone is expensive and so is food and utilities these days as you know. Give Charlie and yourself a hug from me.
I'm so excited to hear about your writing! I am a published Hay House author but also have self-published books online, and want to encourage you to put your word art out there! I think the world needs the kind of kind, wise content you create. I had someone help me with uploading to Kindle, Amazon, formatting the manuscript, etc. because that's not a skill set I own, but some folks do it themselves and say it's not too difficult. I'd love to read something you wrote.
We have "living room " concerts here. It's one weekend a year. People can sign up and offer their living room. They then get assigned a band. And people can go living room to living room listening to the differents performances. It's very similar to the porch concerts.
I love your excitement at the beautiful rain! We have had such a long, hot, humid summer here in upstate New York and need rain so badly. Poughkeepsie looks much like our town with the beautiful historic homes, people out and about and more rain❤. At 65+, retired and just love your enthusiasm and positivity for taking life as it comes and being open to new adventures. You are a photographer and a content creator. That's two careers. Looks to me like you have a full life. Our society gets our heads mixed up.....everyone is different. I used to tell my daughter not to settle....being single is great too. Now at 40 she met someone and is expecting. Never thought it would happen. Life is full of surprises especially when you're not looking for it.

It's why I put "career" in quotes because it's work, but not what people used to consider a "career". I wrote 92 books and self-published them all on Kindle. Three are paperbacks and the others are electronic books because they are in a shorter format. The publishing industry has changed (I started in 2010) and now people have the power to create and get their stuff "out there" rather than waiting for a publishing company to publish their book. The motivation for publishing houses is to make money. Creators are looking for something else. I learned everything from writing, editing, formatting, designing my own book covers and then uploading my books onto Amazon. It was a learning curve for sure, but eventually my books cost me $0 to produce and download. They are also international as well.

Hi! I am writing to tell you how much I enjoyed this video. I was a senior technical writer for many years and retired from that profession. I am now 77 years old with ataxia and use a walker to compensate for loss of balance. I felt like you were writing to me and I just wanted to give you a big verbal hug and tell you to keep finding the joy in your life and you will never regret it. Things like RUclips and internet travel did not exist for much of my life and my husband (who is 81) and I often talk about how differently we would have lived our life if we had been exposed to all the opportunities. Due to health reasons and lack of knowledge, we did not travel as much as we would have. We always thought we would love to visit Italy but we kept on delaying it. Then our age got in the way. Now we watch The Positano Dairies on RUclips every Sunday and "pretend" we are there. I hope you travel, experience many things and never regret anything. You are an awesome person - never forget that. May Little Charlie live his best life with you. Take care! Pam

I have not had an Interweb connection for over 3 weeks right after not being on for a month as I could not sit because I twisted my knee 2 days after my 63rd Birthday while in the Garden dancing and one of he things I have missed was watching and listening to Your soul Hugging Vlogs ...great to see Your archway in the evening ...You make me smile so much especially when You were so JOYful in the rain and hail, I too am a Storm dancer and love to run out into the courtyard and let it wash away my cares and worries and spin like You with my arms wide open in gratitude!, feel it really charges me up ...You my Dear Kate are a Fellow JOY GERM !! ...and wow porch concerts how cool and I love those Houses ...hello from New Zealand! I haven't had a career since I left healthcare. I work 2 jobs right now, to put some money away and to allow myself to pursue my creative self- photography, drawing, acrylics, a little sewing- which translates to my sanity staying happy and a little bit of money. I never was the kid who grew up and said I want to do that thing. I still can't answer that at 50. I've been like this my whole life and I can honestly say, my life has been much fuller, removing the career thing. I think we are more aware of the important things in life.

You remind me when I was younger and when I had my beloved dog Oliver who is now living in Heaven. I lost him two years ago and I still grieve. I have a cat now, her name is Daisy Pearl. I'm single too and I love it. I also live in the house I grew up in after my parents passed away in 2011. We need rain so bad. Very hot and humid. A single life is a very blessed life. You seem to have so much joy and you pass it on to everyone. I too write, my story, short stories, children's, and also a family cookbook. I also do freelance things to make it. Very fun video 🙂. Your free form happy dancing and the storms brought back a childhood memory. When we had a summer storm, and the wind would begin to blow before the rain, next door neighbor kids and my brother and I would become leaves swirling and twirling being blown about every which way all around our adjoining back yards. Such happy times. I think that kind of movement is good for the soul. Freedom.
I enjoy making different kinds of books and jewelry. My eldest son and his wife like to travel and camp. I'm about to create a travel journal for them. Along the lines of a faux midori / paper dori. I've seen a couple artists use soy wax to lightly coat the cover of their journals to protect the paper. I want to try that.
Oooh ... that sounds like a fun thing to try!!!!!! And I always loved summer storms as a child, too. We were always allowed to stay out unless we saw lightening. But it was just so exciting when those first winds blew!❤❤❤

I think working for yourself and not being contracted is better, it can open up some financial insecurity but gives you flexibility and freedoms. As long as you live within your means. I am a short term, daily supply /substitute primary school teacher and I am the main provider, my husband manages the home and was the main caregiver when my son was small. He does some part time labouring but is always there if my son is sick from school. We live in a small house and live within our means. Full time contracted teaching jobs are just too stressful for me. You are very talented Kate, but it's best I think to work to live rather than live to work.

I think you have created a beautiful life for yourself. You remind me so much of my daughter. She is trying to carve out a career for herself doing what she loves to do. She is a creative soul like you. Years ago I wrote a handful of poems that I have treasured all these years. I have recently decided I want to publish them and am looking into my options. I wanted to be a writer when I was a kid but I was told I wasn't good enough and I believed it. As I get old(er) I have been trying to find the dreams of that young girl and make them come true. It is an amazing journey. Maybe this is what is called "finding yourself".

I'm 63 and an independent contractor in the gig economy. I've been a sole proprietor of my own business for 25 years as well. I agree with everything you say and more. Please make sure you are saving for retirement. I know its hard when life is so expensive already but putting aside more when you are younger does usually make for a better quality of life when you are older. I am hoping I have enough saved and that my Social Security benefits combined will allow me to stay where I am and age well. I dont need alot...not that interested in international travel or having fancy things, but Medicare alone is expensive and so is food and utilities these days as you know. Give Charlie and yourself a hug from me.

We have "living room " concerts here. It's one weekend a year. People can sign up and offer their living room. They then get assigned a band. And people can go living room to living room listening to the differents performances. It's very similar to the porch concerts.
