I knew this Mataji. She was a very sincere devotee and I do not doubt her story. Also after looking thru the book "Spiritual Warrior" I could more than believe her as that book is full of all kinds of nonsense althought seemingly expertly written is not at all in line with Srila Prabhupada's teachings. So I can not see this being refuted myself. Unfortunately this is or was not the only deviation within the society of devotees that crush people's faith. Hare Krishna.
Lloyd McKay sincerity doesn’t equate to truth. One may be sincere, but completely in illusion and misconception. Therefore they just accept their delusions as truth. The danger is of course when they start sharing their delusions with people who may have weak faith or who are full of doubts. You have to ask yourself the question, “Why is it only this one mataji, out of thousands of devotees in West Africa, who has these “experiences” and stories?” That alone is a red flag. In regards to HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami Maharaja’s writings in Spiritual Warrior 1, he wasn’t writing about those things for sense gratification. He was writing about those things as a tool to preach to the so-called “New Age” community. It’s narrow minded to say that Krishna Consciousness can only be preached or spread around the planet in one certain way to one certain class or group of people. The acaryas are always thinking of innovative ways to reach a variety of different conditioned souls. It is the mood of Sri Nityananda Prabhu. Obviously topics of UFOs and psychic powers and aliens, etc aren’t really interesting to the Bhakti yogis, but those topics are interesting to certain conditioned jivas and by presenting that book to them it opens the door for their eventual alignment with Bhakti. May Sri Nitai bless you and give you shelter under His lotus feet. Jai Nitai!
