(Oh, btw, freestyling in this game is like HEAVILY encouraged. It gets super hard if you try to play it like a regular rhythm game without it. To freestyle you literally just press any button during your turn.)
don't forget holding left or right on the dpad to force the first word to be repeated which makes it super fun to jumble up words

I think you need to push buttons obviously with a little bit with rythm, if you just press buttons with no sense of rythm it will just switch to bad and awful and like that, or at least that's what i think

I’m happy Friday Night Funkin exists since I doubt we’ll ever get another Parappa or Lammy game again tbh
i am personally happy that it exists since it's a little love letter to Newgrounds and personally it got me into checking back into things from the flash era and rediscover things i forgot about like madness combat or discover new stuff like eddsworld and the tankman series etc even if it's sad that it has a bad image cause of the fanbase but well it's innevitable it's the annoying side effect of popularity that we can't do any shit about it also another hate reason the mods make kids or people who never heard about the characters used in them think they originates from there like the fortnite effect even if i don't understand people being mad for someone to do a mistake we all do mistakes especially if it's kids or the character is really unpopular but i am happy for the attention it's getting even if it's overhyped i really liked and the modders (the good ones **cough** **cough** groomers) keep slapping me in the face with banger mods that blew me away and btw i guess you are a parapa fan who heard of the game before fnf right? ngl parapa is pretty good even if really weird but it feels like a timing rythme game with lyrics songs and the free style mechanic which is intressting anyways gonna finish the video (srry for the terrible english and also dang my comment is longer than i excpected anyways good day)

some of the people here don't know how important Parappa was. it was the FIRST rhythm game and it sparked a small phenomenon in the '90s, going on to compete with crash bandicoot as ps mascot before sony killed both. the story of Parappa is actually really cool and I recommend watching some videos on it

Yeah, I remember my first game was PaRappa the Rapper 2 for the PaRappa games and then I got used to it and got everything 100%. Then I would play PaRappa the Rapper 1 and I was getting screwed because of the timing but, I still managed to beat it 100%. Then I did it with Um Jammer Lammy. Amazing series nevertheless.

In case you are wondering why you appear to lose points or you get a perfect line called "bad", here's an explaination:
Any buttons pressed on the dots give around 3 points.
Any buttons pressed in between the dots subtract point equal to the number of buttons needed.
If the points added are equal to 0, or lower, it counts it as bad.
