Her vocal control, pitch, rhythm, dynamics, phrasing, and showmanship are beyond impressive. And her cornucopia of tones is second to none. Glad I had the opportunity to see Haley live at The Patio Theatre in Chicago. I feel sorry for those that have never heard her sing. A beautiful person with a beautiful voice and soul.
Too bad it was a converted movie theater, the venue echoe'd like a mofo and Haley and Harry had some amazing performances that night, including that one w/ guitarist, Alfonso Ponticelli. Haley plays in Chicago 2nd only to LA because her family lives near there, so maybe you'll get to see a show where the venue has much better sound.
Thank you for that link to "Cry Me A River"! That was a phenomenal performance! Haley's voice was angelic, as always. And that was virtuosic flamenco guitar playing. I play a little guitar and admire Haley's dad on the 6 string. He is great at doing what's best for the performance. He doesn't get in the way of Haley and her mom when they sing. But when it's time for his guitar to stand out, you really hear his great guitar chops.
And I agree that The Patio might have a little more natural hall reverb since it was a movie theatre. I am just curious if you know if any additional reverb was added to Haley's mix going into the P.A.?

I was lucky to get the opportunity to record Haley performing "Light My Fire" at the Troubadour w/ Robby Krieger for Haley's RUclips channel. @@jeromekastler9991 I don't think so, but I think they seemed to be having some issues w/ operating the sound board. Either the regular guy couldn't make it, or they thought about it last minute. This was a charity event and amazingly, they didn't have anyone to do 'media' for the event for them, so they ended up recruiting a handful of #Haliens who've seen her often (I used to work banquets for 17 years, this is the first time I've seen a charity event that didn't have people to collect promotional media). They needed someone to take photos, interview their speakers, and get video, so we already had a photographer, someone who works in TV/radio and myself as the video guy. They gave us complete access to collect media for them, so it's not a stretch to think an experienced sound guy was low on their priorities. In the end, I think it was more the venue that affected the sound, you can only do so much as a sound guy if the venue echoes that much. I've been to a ton of shows videoing Haley, so a lot of venues. Usually the outdoors are the best audio, except for chatting, there's nothing to bounce the sound around. In Berlin, it was a tiny club, maybe 250 people, and my audio sounded muffled because it was such a small space and I stood next to a stone wall.
