These lesson gems are good, but I have an important question: Why are only males creating these lesson gems? Do I really need only a priesthood holder to help me with my seminary teaching? I think not. I think someone (or a group of people) need to get together and re-assess how these lesson gems are prepared and presented, because it's very male-centric right now.

That's a great question Debbie-and an easy one to explain. There simply aren’t sisters who have chosen to pursue the position of Coordinator in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm sure there are a few exceptions, I'm just not aware of any. I’ve taught with sisters on every faculty I’ve been part of along the Wasatch Front for the past 29 years and loved having their perspectives and insights. They consistently impacted my lesson preparation and helped me to become a better teacher.
Since moving to the Midwest, our region doesn’t have any full-time coordinators who are sisters. The good news is that as some of the coordinators in our region retire, they’re being replaced by sisters who live in those areas. Hopefully, by next year, we’ll have some of those sisters as part of the Lesson Gem team.
You certainly don’t need our perspective to prepare your lessons, or anyone's perspective for that matter. You, the scriptures and the spirit are capable of preparing every day. However, if these gems can help inspire someone who may be struggling to come up with ideas, or who only have a few minutes to prepare, then it's worth creating them each week. If you are not completely satisfied with any lesson gem, simply return it for a full refund, no questions asked. :)
