  • LIVE TRIAL: CA v. Robert Durst Murder Trial Day 4 - Murder of Friend Susan Berman
    Robert Durst stands trial for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman. The trial began just before the pandemic in early 2020 and was halted two weeks in. The restart happened May 17, 2021, with the same jury panel.
    The defendant’s wife Kathleen McCormack Durst went missing in 1982. Evidence and testimony would show that Robert Durst killed her, the prosecutor said. The defendant allegedly told Berman it was an accident and asked her for help. She served as his alibi.
    Berman, 55, was shot execution-style at her Beverly Hills home in 2000, and the prosecution suggested that it was because of what she knew about Kathleen’s death and disappearance. As defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin would have it, however, Durst is innocent. His client only came across the body, panicked, and fled, he maintained.

    When I read some of the idiotic comments in these posts, I pray to God I never have to depend on a jury to be sensible and rational

      I agree this judge is the weirdest behaving judge I’ve ever seen and I watch a lot of trials. He does weird things with his voice. Changes tone mid sentence. It’s almost like he’s got multiple personalities.

    This has to be the most boring trial I've ever seen....maybe because this defendant's wealth kept him out of jail for 50 years? Gee...ya think?

      I don't think it's boring at all. For example start listening at 16 minutes. He is asking the witness about this handwritten note with her deceased sisters work address and phone number on it, because it was found in the trunk of Durst car, and the theory is her sister was going there to be the next victim as she had made it her life's mission to figure out what happened to her friend Kathy durst. Like it Durst hadn't been found by police just in time, he was probably on his way to kill her sister! How the heck is that boring? 😊

    This is ridiculous. He has not been charged with the murder of his first wife. Totally irrelevant to this case. Leave it to California……….to let something like this joke to go on.

    • @amandasmith373
      @amandasmith373 3 года назад +1

      Right! We have heard almost nothing about the victim in this case or what even happened in the actual murder being tried. The jury will be overwhelmed with irrelevant info and struggle to come to a verdict on the actual charges 🤦

      You don't get it. Read a description of case and why this is allowed in procedurally if you want to really understand. And they have not near finished...they have 100 witnesses so they just have not gotten to Susan Berman's death yet.
