I know the answer to the trivia question, but that's because I was the one that posted that stat on Twitter lol. I won't say it here as I can't go to Quebec City anyway as I'm doing the commentary that weekend. Great podcast again by the way! Loved hearing your analyses on the world records, although I do disagree with some. Jutta and Miho's 1000m's have been good, but not world-record-level this season, so I don't think that one's gonna get broken. The men's 5k really needs to go under 6 minutes. Since Sven's 6:03.32 it's only moved down by 1.76 seconds, which is less than the much shorter 1500m, which went from 1:42.32 to 1:40.17 in the same time.
So in retrospect I think I combined 2 different stories about Silovs. In 2014 I think he biked from the village to the long track oval because he was late. In 2010 he competed on the long track and short track on the same day but was driven in a car. My brain combined these 2 into one story it seems.

It would be interesting to hear from Gerard Van Velde since Reggeborgh is having so much success this season.
