A dentist exposed my nerve when removing a deep cavity and just put a normal filling over it. 8 months later and my molar hurts so much. What should i do? The pressure i put on the filling put pressure on my molar pulp and causes me pain. Do i get a root canal?

You do it was the same with me a deep cavity that occurred to be a pulp.If it pains so much he wont even put you anastesia, because that means the tooth is dead anyway.Go and see the dentist.

Te Auwe Tihi did your dentist also expose your nerve while removing a deep cavity? PLEASE READ MY WHOLE COMMENT. It might save you pain and possibly even money. I had to get a root canal since my comment i posted. I found out what happened to my molar tooth and if yours is still hurting after 3 weeks then you might have the same problem i had. Ill tell you what happened. My molar kept hurting after my deep cavity removal(which exposed my pulp) for around 3-4 months. It was horrible. I couldnt bite with it or put any pressure because the pain was unbearable if i tried chewing with it. My old dentist said it would go away after a few weeks because it was “sore” maybe but it was actualy worse. My molar stopped hurting after around 3-4 months and i was finally able to eat with it. I would eat burgers pizza and everything i liked. It was fine for a few months like 3 or 4 . I had no pain. Until 5 months ago when i posted this comment my molar began to hurt again and my tooth felt swollen. And covid had started so it was a pain in the ass to get a check up. But i finally did get checked up by my new dental clinic and dentist amd turns out the removal of the cavity put my pulp through trauma and damage from the exposure, and it didnt survive the trauma of being exposed and the pain. So my pulp and nerves in the canals actually died off becaise of the trauma and which is why it had stopped hurting after 3 months. The pain had began again because my nerves and pulp was dead but it had caused a big infection under my molar tooth because the dead tissue and that is the pain that made me post my comment. I wouldn’t let me sleep some nights. So my dentist said i needed a root canal fast to save my tooth. So i got it and now its been 3 or 4 months since i got it and ive felt so much better. If you think you are going through my same situation i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you get a root canal on your tooth. It will save you a ton of pain and i know the money seems alot but its the best thing you can do for yourself. I paid pretty much $1000 for my root canal but i was so happy i got it. Let me know if this helps you out. Dont want to scare you or anything but i wish i had someone that wouldve told me or someone that maybe had gonee through the same thing as me. I didnt even need anestasia because my whole nerve was dead so i didnt feel a thing during the root canal. If you have any questions feel free to ask or call your dentist up asap and let them know you want another check up on that tooth.
