and when they're falling like that, the pilots are completely exposed to the elements. they had a tail through the head pod just a few shots ago! they'd be fried/vaporized/burned beyond recognition before they ever collided with the kaiju. This movie went to the fuckin dogs.
I love how the kaijus get more love than the jeagors and I think I rate Mega Kaiju as a 8.5/10 for being close to accurate when it comes to size and weight
In the first film, it was the world saving the world. There was a clear threat and everyone was onboard doing everything they can with the same goal in mind, all helping each other along the way. The world saved the world. In this film, there’s a small group of teenagers with attitudes who learn to trust one another and pilot giant robots to save the world. That’s Power Rangers. Deknight could’ve made the best Power Ranger movie ever if he just made a Power Ranger movie.
You will notice that when fighting the kaiju, the Jaeger who stayed alive the longest and probably did the most damage was Gypsy, because it's pilots had actual experience and training. This is why you don't have children pilot giant robots.
Don’t forget that slattern from the first movie is bigger than the mega kaiju. Not to mention, the jaegers are at a severe disadvantage underwater, because they are much slower, while slattern was in his element. It took two, not nearly as high tech as these like 4, jaegers to kill slattern, and slattern still survived after a nuke. This is why I believe that the pilots from the first movie in their old jaegers would still decimate every one of these dumb teens
A *huge* complaint I have about the sequel based on RUclips clips is the Drift basically has way less downsides in this movie as far as the link to the other pilot and the Jaeger go. When Raleigh experienced Gypsy Danger's arm coming off, he felt that pain as if he had experienced it himself. Yeah, when the orange one is stabbed, the pilots seem to react as if they're experiencing pain, but what about getting the legs torn off? Or when the bulky green one is getting ripped apart, and the pilots are just like "Oh shit, let me just prep to eject real quick"? I haven't actually seen the entire movie, just clips on RUclips, so maybe the Drift is more advanced and how/when pilots feel pain is different in this movie, but I don't know and to be honest, I don't care. It just seems like they either forgot something the first movie established, or they wanted a lazy way of ignoring that part of the Drift. There's no tension or fear if a Jaeger is taken down in this movie.
The fact that they can move around so much and do backflips and shot even though they are giant metal robots just doesn't make sense. I feel like the first one did a better job at showing how big and heavy they really are
They got rid of the og characters too. And it feels like every movie they put this main dude in sucks. They got rid of everything that made the first movie so kick ass which was the slow giant robots the details and the development of character. i get why people hate this movie but consider, this is after the first movie dont u think they would make the jaegers more agile and more nimble, yes the first had better fight scenes cuz it was a slower paced fight this movie has faster paced fights with more going on inside the fight
@@colvertsolos bullshit, every melee attack we see draws blood aka gets through its armour. If the jaeger had plunged its sword into the location it had just slashed the kaiju would have a bit of a problem

Dominick Smith it’s because for some reason the writers chose to make the pilots kids. The only the pilots that actually could have been pilots were the pilots of Gypsy avenger

It's amazing that a completely uncontrolled rocket launched a building sized robot above the clouds and then failed, but left it on a perfect trajectory to punch a giant monster climbing up a volcano. What are the odds?
Pretty bad considering that's not even what happened in the movie. When Avenger was firing it's plasma cannon mid-air, it was using it as a thruster to put it on the right trajectory.
That said, still a dumb scene.

Genuinely one of the worst fights in cinema history. Pilots had no coordination nothing. This movie had so much potential to set up a universe series, there are many unanswered questions about the jaegers and so on
The jaegers destroyed more of the city than the kaiju
Not gonna defend this film, but they were inexperienced pilots. Them sucking ass at defeating the kaijus was probably the only realistic part of the movie
There is a lot of potential in Pacific Rim; now would be a good time to work out a series that could air on one of the streaming networks.

You can damage the monster more when you're not unnecessarily doing flips
One Jaeger could have easily killed all three of the kaijus if they hadn’t tried to be fancy
The sword one just leaves its back to get killed. Despite the fact that it was able to damage big boy there and wasnt getting hit back
Pacific Rim didn’t need a sequel. Its a standalone film

Here's a hint
In the first film, it was the world saving the world. There was a clear threat and everyone was onboard doing everything they can with the same goal in mind, all helping each other along the way. The world saved the world.
In this film, there’s a small group of teenagers with attitudes who learn to trust one another and pilot giant robots to save the world. That’s Power Rangers. Deknight could’ve made the best Power Ranger movie ever if he just made a Power Ranger movie.
3:09 ok now that was cool 🔥🔥
You will notice that when fighting the kaiju, the Jaeger who stayed alive the longest and probably did the most damage was Gypsy, because it's pilots had actual experience and training. This is why you don't have children pilot giant robots.
Yeah
They probably upgraded the feedback so that the pilots suffered fewer personal consequences if their Jaeger broke
Ah yes, because an orbital drop from a Jaeger will be LESS of a shock to that volcano than whatever the kaiju could do to it.
They took out all the depth of what they had and were left with a shitty gundam/evangelion movie
Isn't it insane how they make so much damages jumping around and landing robots on buildings ?
Jagers caused more death and destruction than the Kaijus. Good job there.
