Same. I extend the search by like 200 miles out (in 50 mile increments) because quite frankly 3-4hrs of gas/time is absolutely worth saving a few grand. Found my current bike ('14 SFV650) 126 miles away and rode that bitch home, had 5k+ fewer miles and was $2k cheaper than any SVs near me🏍🏍✌✌
Yeah idiots who list it for either higher or near showroom floor price, the whole adage of oh he or she knows what they have well good luck selling it 🤣
@@gavinsingh7561 most aftermarket price takes away from the actual resale price. My mom taught me that at a young age because she sells all kinds of vehicles
I have been riding and buying / selling bikes for a very long time. I have seem some crazy, delusional people in our motorcycle journey. Always good for a laugh!
Hey now. I paid $350 for my "classic" bike. I am a welder at a scrap yard in Southern Illinois, and someone scrapped a 1981 KZ750 LTD, that runs and rides. The license plate was still valid on it. Fork seals shot, stem bearings crunchy. About $50 and an afternoon working on it and I ride it damn near every day. The biggest mod I have done to it is get rid of those OG 80s grandpa spec tricycle lookin bars, and slapped a set of Renthal bars on it. Got those from work too. Immaculate shape, cost me $1.60 to buy out of the scrap.
Im glad craigs list is back. Its shorter and faster which is ok but I liked the more casual you with real reactions. Not so rehearsed. But great job with the new format
The number one was likely not the owner actually thinking they had a gsxr, nor is the price at 2000$ I bet they didn’t know what bike it was, just that it’s a Suzuki , but Facebook forces you to put a model, and they only let you set price within a certain range , you can’t list that year gsxr for less than 2k . I’d bet this is all explained in the description or maybe they intended to explain if people message them. I’ve seen this a lot so don’t ever let it turn you off to a possible buy , that owner might let it go real cheap. You see this with cars a lot too. Usually they set the price at 1234$ or 12345$ and that’s your clue that it’s not the actual price.
Can't speak for the 600 & 1000. But I had access to a K7 750 for a while. I liked it. A lot. Which is a bit nuts as no-one had me down for a Gixxer fan.
Not bad at all, the first real sportsbike you could buy for the street. It’s also got a great racing pedigree. The reputation and hate comes from people riding them way to fast on the street with nothing but a helmet and shorts for gear.
I walked into the living room this morning and my dad was watching one of your vids on the smart tv. My dad was a rider in his youth, and is giving me advice on my journey to becoming a squidlet and now I’m happy that we’re bonding with papa yams
Ah yes, “it came from Craig’s list” series. I may have stumbled onto your channel with Beginner Bike videos, but I subscribed, bought merch & donated because of content like this. Love this series bud! 🍻
Seriously recommend Progressive. Just had to file a claim for a stolen MT-07 and they were great. Had the option to cover aftermarket parts, and they covered everything, from the Akra full system to the FTECU wiring.
Been looking for a '93 CBR600 like what my dad had and found one for $2800. "Great bike, runs perfect" blah blah blah, looked like it had been on the beaches of Normandy and lost. Crazy what people will ask.
#5 - might not be a suitable resto, but maybe for that price someone could cobble something together that's rideable. Strip off what's left of the plastic, probably need a new seat (maybe find one used), figure out some way of mounting a universal headlight, if the rest runs that could get you a decent bike cheap. Not pretty, but functional. A "Rat Bike" or "Survivor" as I've seen them called. More info needed, obviously, but I would be inclined to investigate further.
Finally "It came from Craigslist" is back!! About the custom parts not adding value, ... if I'm looking at bike ads and notice any mods (exhaust, power commander, etc.) I skip and go to the next ad.

And what’s up with the guy putting an Akro exhaust on that Fireblade when it comes with one from the factory? 🤷♂️
That magna made me sad. Also fuck that price, I paid 2k for mine in great shape, 26k miles on it. 1k bucks to spend fuck knows how long sourcing parts and getting it back in shape? Hell no.
Yeah I was recently searching on Cycle Trader for a 2019-2020 ZX-6R and I came across a bunch of used supersports with very low mileage. Like that first bike I think a lot of people think they can handle one of those beasts and they end up getting scared 💩 less when they ride the thing and nearly kill themselves.

Actually makes sense - they think posted price = 3x actual price. So when they post the price they post 3x what they hope to get, and when they want to buy they offer 1/3 the posted price. Always drives me crazy - can't sellers just post the price they actually reasonably hope to get, and buyers pay that, no haggle, no fuss?

It's also the start of riding season. Probably not the most affordable time to be looking for a bike.
Honestly. Goto Yamaha like I did put down a couple Grand and then make payments every month, ride off on a brand new motorcycle with a WARRANTY
Exactly... I dropped 1600 on some trash just so I could ride.
