I am very impressed with how much the devs walked out this spell. They really addressed its power by designing with beautiful limitations. I'm thinking "what can I get away with in 60 seconds?" and "how can I redirect the crew's focus" while running the opposite direction as thrall. Doppelganger is a beautiful tax on players who choose to push too hard without teamwork.
I really like this comment. It’s bang on. A lot of careful tailored decisions to limit the spells power whilst giving it great opportunity to cause chaos
I think hush will make poison OP. Like you stick someone and either they don't know, or they do and attack you. So as far as the rest of the crew is concerned a guy is just attacking another.
Ahaha don’t worry your original thrall body is invisible when you cast doppel. It’s more of a ‘teleport back’ mechanic. You’ll be safe when using doppel ^.^
Doppel seems really fun for a sort of ‘thief’ game. One question I have about it is - what happens if the doppel picks up a nitro and then expires? Does the nitro go into your thrall inventory since it takes an item slot? Or does it drop since the carrier ‘died’? Same regarding carrying crew
It shouldn’t teleport no, I haven’t tested it since the update, but I know it was a problem in playtesting and it would of been fixed so it wouldnt. (But need to check it ourselves).
there is definitely a steep learning curve to learning how to be a good thrall. Documentation could help but I suggest sharing videos with new players & encouraging them to make mistakes.
The damage reflection is a smart design! Was worried it might break the game in some situation. But if the damage is more than Doppler’s current health, will it deal the full damage to the crew?
Thank you, I'm all caught up, this is well explained !

For this video doppelgänger just left the thrall‘s body behind and spawn the clone so I was too scared to use it in my trall games xd

Does nitro teleport. Fantastic question.

I feel like there should be a thrall message that says "build totems" or to use a certain spell

Na it doesn’t reflect onto the users actual body - you can see in my musket shot in the video it won’t.
Which is both good and bad in different ways 😂
I did want to know, if a doppelganger is poisoned does the thrall also get poisoned when the doppelganger dies?
I haven’t tested it but I would expect the poison not to transfer given its seperate bodies
