I think them changing it so that the door hit Regulus is because they remembered that Reinhard has a divine protection that makes it so that any projectile he uses is guaranteed to hit its target
That's not the reason, Authorities are above Divine Protections. My own explanation is because he didn't activate his authority, it's not automatic since using it for too long will cost his life
Regulas is still a target, authorities only trump divine protections because theyre distortions in the logic of the world, the divine protection would still target regulas because reinhard intended to hit that space@crownedking_cj8890

Also don't forget that it was Reinhard that kicked the door, which could be considered as a projectile from that point. And Reinhard's projectiles always hit the target, no matter what. So this divine protection of his negated Regulus's power.
Regulus gets knocked over when he is not expecting an attack. This happened 100 years ago when Geuse first used his unseen hands and threw Regulus off the ground in Elior Forest back in Season 2.

The part about him only caring about the face still can be found in the anime. At least he mentions that he likes Emilia because of her face when he kidnaps her.
9:27 Regulus being slammed by the door makes sense for me as he did not expect an attack. Back in Season 2, when Petelgeuse first used the unseen hands, he threw Regulus off the ground and sent him crashing far back. I think the Sloth Witch Factor in general trumps Lion Heart, because Suburu also manages to hurt him. And Sekhmet was often considered one of the most powerful witches of her time compared to other witches, I think the second strongest under Satella, so if Echidna also had this ability then that means Sekhmet could also defeat her.

@@KelibarthI think that Petelgeuse was slothful in the sense that instead of accepting the consequences of his actions like killing Fortuna and rebel against Pandora he chose to be broken and succumb to madness and to submit to Pandora. Pretty much like Petelgeuse asked to Subaru in Arc 3 why he was “faking” his madness, Subaru at that point instead of facing reality he was trying to escape it by being crazy, and in fact Petelgeuse calls him slothful.
I want to think the door knocking Regulus into the ground is a result of the door being hit by Reinhardt, since his divine protections basically override everything else. Plus, it serves as a nice taste of what's to come!

An attack that catches Regulus off guard seems to have a minor impact against him. Also almost forgot, Regulus getting hit by Subaru's Invisible Providence and taking the damage in the beginning of the season.
I get the impression that Regulus' line about focusing on appearances being shallow is simply him blurting out arguements to try and refute Emilia, even if it completely hypocritical. Since he doesn't really have any standards and does whatever benefits himself at the time

I'll confess I haven't watched any of this series. But I've been told that whenever the guy with the red hair is involved, he makes other Mary Sue/Gary Stu characters look utterly redundant. Is that true?
kinda not really. If you look at him in a 'power scaling' way, sure. in any other story, he'd be a main character power fantasy gary stu main character. But this is re;zero. He isn't the main character, isn't so powerful that he can just solve everything, and villains plan around him. He's also only one person, and actually has a life outside of Subaru's story, so he's usually just not there. He also works for a different royal candidate than Subaru, and his family is pretty fucked
Kind of. A true Mary Sue is infinitely competent, always has the right answer, and is beloved by anyone. It's not a "power scaling" term. In that sense Reinhard is definitely not a Mary Sue. But in terms of self serving abilities he is. If Re:Zero had computers he'd have the divine blessing of always plugging the USB in right on the first time.
3:30 - Regulus being described as courteous to another's thoughts is only his perception of himself. It's not real. So that statement made me have to stop and laugh, because it's nonsense. Regulus even tried to condescend to Pandora! He literally kidnapped all these women and moulded them into what he desired through terror. Regulus doesn't know love, his possession of these women is called love by him because he's a nutcase. His love isn't even 'pure' by his own twisted measure because he loves multiple wives. Like his claims of being a good person and being respectful, they are just words to disguise his disgusting self. He keeps women not even a s*x slaves, but as tools to ensure his safety. They are his extra lives, ornaments to decorate his life with. Their pretty face being the only thing he needs or wants, since he despises them showing any emotion and probably talking as well.

My biggest question about Regulus is why is he the only one to wear a different clothing all other archbishops (minus the 2nd Gluttony, Roy Alphard ) wear the witch cult outfit
I feel like wife 79 was supposed to be pandora because she’s described to be so beautiful it’s dangerous but I feel like she wasn’t suitable because well she’s pandora. Moreover knowing regulus he probably lashed out in anger multiple times because he believes he’s a perfect being who deserves anything he wants and he couldn’t have the most beautiful woman in the world. But I also believe he saved that spot out of respect/attachment for pandora
This show is so silly to me. It's like throwing shit at a wall and and seeing if anything sticks, but you throw so much shit at the wall that you can't even see the wall underneath it anymore. You still know what each of those pieces looked like before they were thrown, but all mixed together you can no longer discern them. Basically, the show is a mess of random elements that obscures the underlying relevance of anything, and most of them are not individually very interesting to begin with, so I struggle to care about anything. This got worse as the show went on.
Don’t even compare my GOAT Subaru to Rent a Girlfriend. Subaru may be a flawed character but he is a great character. He struggles a lot with both his flaws and the various conflicts of the story but both are relevant to one another. Once Subaru has found his resolve to change himself into a better version of himself he offers everything he can to help everyone else. Subaru’s greatest strength(outside of RTB) is his will to never give up on trying to save everyone from a terrible fate. Despite him being a normal human facing off against impossible odds Subaru eventually finds a way to win without willing to sacrifice those that could be saved.

Regulus even tried to condescend to Pandora! He literally kidnapped all these women and moulded them into what he desired through terror.
Regulus doesn't know love, his possession of these women is called love by him because he's a nutcase. His love isn't even 'pure' by his own twisted measure because he loves multiple wives. Terrible last episode, its very clear they designed this as a 6 episode season and those last two episodes were just filler.
This show is so silly to me. It's like throwing shit at a wall and and seeing if anything sticks, but you throw so much shit at the wall that you can't even see the wall underneath it anymore. You still know what each of those pieces looked like before they were thrown, but all mixed together you can no longer discern them.
Basically, the show is a mess of random elements that obscures the underlying relevance of anything, and most of them are not individually very interesting to begin with, so I struggle to care about anything. This got worse as the show went on.

Subaru may be a flawed character but he is a great character. He struggles a lot with both his flaws and the various conflicts of the story but both are relevant to one another.
Once Subaru has found his resolve to change himself into a better version of himself he offers everything he can to help everyone else. Subaru’s greatest strength(outside of RTB) is his will to never give up on trying to save everyone from a terrible fate. Despite him being a normal human facing off against impossible odds Subaru eventually finds a way to win without willing to sacrifice those that could be saved.
