First Indian I saw who indicate the driver he is overtaking 6:56 , I appreciate when Indians doing that. Mostly they are driving without flowing lane principle, in 2009 one of my classmates in Chennai who bought a brand new bike and first thing he did in the showroom 'removed the side mirrors', sadly he died in accident within a year

5:41 Not per kW, it's per kWh
Watt = Power
Watt * hour = Energy
Energy = Power * time
Ex: 1 kW Air conditioner consumes 1 kWh or 1 Unit of electricity, if it runs for 1 hour
only issue is if someone is charging at a station for an hour,.the other person has to wait and charge for maybe a hour, which is not good and can occur if many people get ev. I just got a petrol one, i guess my next one will be ev in maybe 5-8 years, if infra and tech improves. Thanks for genuine user review.

Truly said but looks like ICE manufacturers won’t let EV price reduce otherwise how will they sell their “cheaper” ICE cars. Price of EV vehicles are deliberately kept higher so it doesn’t impact their ICE vehicle sales.
Price drop panratha vida, facility panrathu thaan correct solution. Otherwise roads will get crowded with too many vehicles. Most importantly most of the common people should start to use public transport. Govt should ensure that public transport facility is available to all nook and corner. And those public transport vehicles need to be converted to EV. Own vehicle ottanumna adhu last optiona thaan makkalukku irukkanum.

It's a good review and very much needed one. I too suggest EV are future and everyone to adapt for the future EV. As I'm an EV vehicle system design engineer, I much suggest everyone to get the feel and adopt for EV vehicle. It's very economical and user friendly... we save lots of money in the running cost..

Thank you so much. Even the sunshade on the rear window is to ensure I can hide from the glare of the high beams which some inconsiderate drivers use when coming behind us. The auto dimming feature of this car is quite good however the high beams are even better so I have to put sunshades on rear windscreen 🤣🤣🤣

But I have a question? To make battery for a car, how much litres of water is being spent.
2)At very emergency situations means only source is EV vehicle , need to travel continuously and I don’t have time to wait for not more than 5min at that time any alternative idea.
EV is future, no doubt in that
But it's cheaper than petrol or diesel is "kambi katra kathai".
26 lakhs car cost; even if you buy i20 diesel and drive it for 2 lakhs km, you still spend 22 lakhs, plus you will get a resale value (say approx 30℅)...which is not so with EV; you will have to replace battery after 2 lakhs kms and there is no guarantee that motor will be in good condition after 2 lakhs kms, as of EV is not a wise choice, when the cost of EV equals with diesel car, only then we should purchase, that too as a back up vehicle and only for city use..
For Long Usage of Car only EV deserves , for Home People Petrol/diesel Best
Cost per km is very low in ev.. Agreed. But investment cost (vehicle cost) of kona is more than 20L

Kona comes with a price tag of 24 lakhs and battery replacement would cost 9 lakhs. Sir would it be a prudent decision to go for it. It was pretty obvious sir that you had your own reservations about the ev and wisely stopped short of recommending it right away.the review was great and very informative.
@rathina eswari, It's a common myth that one needs to replace the EV battery after 8 years. There are substantial, long term data of EV battery available now, mostly from the pioneer Tesla who has more than 10 years data, and probably a billion km done by all its vehicles all over the planet(they get real time metrics as all their cars are connected to their servers all the time). Their cars retain about 85% capacity even after 8 years. EV battery is not a single unit, but made of 1000s of cells. You need to change only the dead cells, if need be.

Great very good practical people's when i said about v indians need not bother about charger facilities out side on roads and wait for getting charging stations to go EVs v shall always charge in home r any other houses r road side shops, puntcher shops ,etc. Till government r pvt players do provide charging stations around our nation's r state's if v get EVs in larger numbers even houses will allow to charge through out country only v have to carry charger with required access points plugs

Very nice review. Initially we pay extra cost for buying the vehicle. Then additional amount need to be spent for replacing the battery. All these needs to be considered when EV vehicles are compared with the routine ones. Moreover all trips cannot be plant so meticulously. Is my opinion has EV vehicle has had a long way to go.
All this meticulous planning will be done away with in two years. When I bought my car there were hardly any charging stations on the map. Now you can easily travel the whole of west coast easily. Even Chennai Bangalore seemed impossible when I bought my EV. Now there are 3 points to charge at a distance of 120km each. We are progressing. Actually the misconception is that you need to change the battery after 8 years. Let’s take this example, initially your mobile battery lasts 20 hours when new. But after 4 years your battery degrades and you get only 10 hours of usage. Are you going to spend 1500 and change battery? No, isn’t it? Now, for 50% degradation you are not changing battery for mobile. EV batteries degrade 20% in 8 years. It also depends on how you charge your vehicle. 20% degradation means 39kw gets reduced to 31kw. Which means 64km (8kw x 8km) reduction in range which makes the effective range to be 280km approx (350km - 64km). Isn’t 280km of range enough after using the car for 8 years? Also in 8 years time there will be a lot of charging stations where we won’t even need a large battery pack. Points to ponder 😀
