This is crazy when I heard him talk about his stepdad my jaw dropped because I know EXACTLY what that’s like and the pain that comes with it. My mother started dating a man when I was 4 and 14 years later they were still together never married but that’s the man who raised me and my 2 sisters. Took in 3 kids and treated them like his own all because he loved my mother. It’s true what they say you never know what you really have until it’s taken away from you.
Learn from my mistakes and cherish the people who choose to be in your life and make sure they know the love you got for em. Tomorrow’s not promised to anybody, I gotta live the rest of my life knowing I’ll never be able to tell him how much love I actually had for him and just say thank you for raising me the way he did. BMF should've took some of that money and bought a lot of property in Detroit to prevent gentrification from going down. I was in Detroit back in April, and it looked like whitey was buying up everything around the Motown museum area???
A lot of the big time drug dealers and drug crews in every city wasn't thinking about buying property in their hoods. And back in the 70's and 80's you could buy a big apartment building in Harlem and the BX for $2, no joke. You just had to promise that you will renovate those building for people to live in.
I did read that Nicky Barnes had purchase real estate in Detroit when he was at his peak. But when he got knocked, the people he partnered with ended up shitting on him somehow??? I think they sold the property, and he didn't get one thin dime.
