Updated Nov 7 : For those who are still trying to figure out why Haitians are burning food at the border here is your answer. for the past few months Haiti and the Dominican Republic have been at odds end about the building of the Haitian Canal. In response to the building the Dominican Republic started to deport thousands of Haitians out of the country and then close the border by land air and sea, a month later after realizing that closing the border would affect them financially losing out on the Haitian Money and cheap Labor, they decided to reopen the border only for trade. The Haitian people did not like this news, feeling disrespected citing the Dominican Republic only wanted our money but they didn't want us in their country. so their response was not to support DR's economy until they changed their border policies, one of the things Haitians did was close their side of the border only allowing the entree of people who were leaving the DR and coming into Haiti. unfortunately, there are some people who are not in solidarity and trying to cheat the system by sneaking back into the Dominican Republic purchasing goods, and acting like they are being deported back into Haiti that way they're good can come into the country however border Patrol is not buying it they are treating these people's goods as contraband and burning it as a message to the others who think they can circumvent the system, if you try to sneak products into the country there is a huge chance that you will lose your product and waste your money. I've noticed a lot of you guys have issues with the Burning of food regardless of the situation but this actually highlights the resilience of the Haitian people although they may be a people who are living in dire need they rather starve than support a country who only want their money but dont want them in their country. Asking a Haitian to just take the food is like telling Rosa Park to sit in the back of the bus because there's a seat available for many Haitians they not accepting that.

I hope a lot of my fellow Jamaicans and other Caribbean neighbours are seeing this and are not being misled by the politics of divide and conquer. But I have seen that the Haitian people produce a lot of agricultural products but they lack infrastructure and roads to transport their produce to properly distribute across the country. I pray for the day when the Haitian people and politicians get organised and put the interest of the country before personal gain. The Masacre river will dry out in less than a year and the canal as well. I wonder what they going to steal next from the Dominicans. These Haitians should be embarrassed of themselves always blaming the world for everything bad they done to themselves. They will never succeed because of their religious beliefs. Ace, I've been following you since day one, and I know you have a beautiful heart. Do remember that while the whole world abandoned Haiti, the Dominican Republic opened its borders, hospitals, and schools for years. I am Dominican, and I support my Haitian brothers & sisters. It's not fair that all Dominicans are blamed for what the government does. Every country has good & bad people. As far as burning food wherever it may come from....that's not right. God is also seeing that. Especially when there is great hunger in Haiti. Food is God's provision to sustain his creation. That food can be confiscated and distributed to orphanages & widows as Jesus tells us to do. Are you aware of the many Christian Dominican Missionaries whom have dedicated their lives to the Haitian people? Missionaries that established churches & orphanages there. We own a home in Dominican Republic that a Haitian congregation uses because we believe in them. I can provide you with names and support. Please do not allow this situation to convey you to make a judgment on all Dominicans.

Sister we love our dominican brothers and sisters. haitians have no hatred against dominicans. know for sure that the food they destroyed was also for the most part spoiled that's the kind of food that's been sold to those poor haitians. there more videos showing the conditions of most food sold to those folks.
