Crowley was lived from 1875 to 1947. He wasn't famous in all circles. I guess a modern counterpart insofar as fame goes might be Marianne Williamson. She is nice & he was not, but I refer to renown, not to ethics. Not everyone has heard of her either, but in some circles she's well-known.
