For the tenth episode of Indian Food In America, we visit Southern Spice Indian Kitchen in Hillsboro, Oregon with Mumzies' parents.
The restaurant is brand new, and have not even had their official grand opening yet. They are waiting on their furnishings to arrive from India. The food was absolutely incredible. We had an enormous plain dosa, Hyderabadi Veg Dum Biryani, South Indian Thali, and North Indian Lamb Tikka Masala Thali.

@@IndiCuriouswithMumziesPapa that Biryani kind of recipe is always served with some curd base raytas so that you can mix together to curb the spiciness or you can have 1-2 spoonful of those raytas after having few spoonful biryani into mouth. While processing biryani many kinds of whole spices are used for flavours but when you going to eat biryani you must pick and put aside those whole spices. Please don't eat that.
Actually i am from tamil nadu in india we used to eat daily dosa and idli always same food repeat daily very boring to eat i want to go to some other countries and want to eat any thing new

Biryani is always in large quantity can be shared. It also comes in different variety and you can ask them if want less spicy. All these food is good occasionally. Indian daily home food is very different healthy, less oily than restaurants ☺️💚.
Look, like any Indian, I get it with the food and all. But your family. I see Pops and Mom, Mumzies, you and your daughter with her kids too - four generations I believe you said in one episode.You guys are the epitome of the American family. Just a heads up guys. You are supposed to place all the small and big bowls outside the plate. Then use your spoon to put the dry/semidry curries in the plate and eat with bread. When you are done with the bread put some rice in your plate and use the liquid curries and mix up with the rice. Scoop the mixture in your spoon get some dry curries if you wish and eat it. Finish up with butter milk if it's there and then eat the sweet stuff.
Good to see your in-laws. In Hindi "khane ka maja to family ke sat he aata h," you are a good person because you respect parents and in laws.
Always remember gravy always eaten with the combination of roti and rice not alone .
If you eat only gravy then definitely you feel little bit spicy because you have to mix either with rice or roti🥙🌯🌮🥘🍱😇

Hyderabadi Biryani is usually more spicy than biryani from other parts of India. You must try Kolkata or Lucknow Biryani which has very mild spices but bursts with flavours.

Nice guys injoy Indian food
Search for 'Saravana Bhavan' restaurant. It is an authentic South Indian vegetarian restaurant.
Things to try there:
1. Ghee sambar Idli
2 Masala dosa
3. Ghee roast Dosa
4. Poori
5. Medu vada / Bonda (fritters)
6. Masal-vada (fritters)
7. Pakora (fritters)
8. Samosa
9. Masala kucha + potato peas (Aloo mutter) masala gravy
10. Cashew nut pulao + paneer butter masala gravy
Add curry and curd together in rice and then eat it with NANA bread
U can tell ur cook to add less red chilli. That's what we do
Chai ☕️ always (fresh just like coffee) drinks morning

Because Dosa is so long ideally just fold it once it comes. Masala Dosa is more yummy as it has potatoes stuffing. There are many varieties in Dosa 👍

Sir, if you have any problems from spices then after taking food please take chhach or raayta( making from curd)...and the nature of chhach or raayta is basic which neutralize the acidic nature or acidicity of spices.....

1. You can have lental soup/sambar in-between dosa/idli/wada bites.
2. Add yogurt sauce to nutralize the spices in biryani.

When you order some indian curry dishes and rise like biryani or pulao , they serv you in a whole big size bowl so that can be share to everyone on table . So everyone can taste each and every food .2 or 3 curry's you all can share and can order different types of Indian breads like puri, roti, naan, paratha according to choice or all and then share so, you all will get variety at the same time . Indian Restaurants provides you empty plates and your ordered dishes separately so you all can share those all dishes , according to your choice and quantity.
Its really funny to watch foreigners trying to eat I dian food without using their hands😂.
