- This is Halloween...this is Halloween. Well, it's not yet, is it? Let's just pretend that it is because I, Kirsty the pumpkin queen will be creating the most nightmarish design today!
So, I am going to be creating a Jack Skellington nail! OMG! Yes, this is real. No, you are not dreaming. I have decided that for this Halloween. My 40th Halloween may I add, that I will be making a nail of one of my favourite animated characters and that character is the all elusive Jack Skellington! OMG! What a treat!
This design is going to be very true to the animated film and I will be using sculpture gel to craft parts of jacks body so that it looks very true to Tim Burton's original animated epic! OMG! How cool is that!
So, strap yourself in because this Halloween we're going on a ride through Halloween town!

Now we need the rest of the characters for an entire set! I have a limited edition collectors set of the movie and the making of the movie. Each character, every expression, every pose, was a seperate model made of clay. Absolutely insane the amount of time and love that went into this movie!!!

Everything in the Nightmare Before Christmas was made with clay. I work with clay and have been wanting to do a jack and Sally but I'm so picky about them, they have to be JUST RIGHT lol! You did an amazing job!!
the whole movie of "the nightmare before Christmas" was completely made out of clay each character was sculpted. the whole production of the movie took 3 years. It finally was released in the theater October 13th 1993.

@@TabiNeko77 yes. Except corpse bride they had mechanics in most of them while nightmare didnt. The tech just wasnt there yet so you had sculpts for each little movement and emotion.
It never ceases to amaze me how much detail you can get into a painting smaller than a finger. You're such a fantastic artist, Kirsty!

Damn girl...you're beyond awesome!!!! I so wish I could do this and just put a few stars in the sky!!!! But I'm pretty much just starting out and had leave being a mechanic bc of bone/cartilage/ chronic pain issues....and wanted to get back into nails after being gone from it 15yrs. Especially seeing all the cool shit they have now!! I was so hopeful until I discovered that I had some extreme pain issues in my hands, after having carpal tunnel about 15yrs ago. I'm not having the best of luck. But I use to draw really good and I watch your vids and see all the crazy insane of endless art and beauty and get so happy!! So I pray they can do something about even just my hands so I can try to start my own thing with the beauty of nails. You're such an inspiration that I can someday soon get my issues fixed and my hands going again and try to learn more from you. This was a really great identical Jack the skeleton and only hope n pray I can become just a 1/10th as good as you someday!!! You're so sweet and wonderful.....thank you so much for the great vids and showing all your cool ideas n techniques!!!! Just like the panther or cheetah actually I think....that was beyond awesome!! Fantastic, as always! This was SO complex and detailed! The video was 41 minutes, and a LOT of it was sped up at least double. This nail must have taken a couple of hours to complete. I can't imagine how much you'd have to charge a client for nail art like this. Between the time and the materials I'd think you'd have to charge at least $100 for this nail alone. That's a client with some *deep* pockets!

So, you’re basically an amazing artist who could probably create unbelievable works, with any medium, on any substrate. However, you only create on tiny little nails. You are fantastic. Would love to see you work with other mediums. On larger as well as smaller substrates.
