We have a well established self sown apple tree on our yacht club grounds about 40 years old, It has the most beautiful apples i have ever eaten, never been maintained & now seriously in need of pruning, thanks for showing me how to do it!
Excellent job, recently bought a property that has an apple tree and I will use your advice. Simple straight to the point, thank you from Ontario Canada
Like others said, truly an amazing video; to the point, quality information. Helped me start to get a grasp on pruning our 100 year old apple trees. Next, I'll attempt to ID these old apple trees.
I've been a professional gardener for 20 years and I came across my first really old well established apple tree and it was in a really bad state. After watching most of the other videos on the subject and falling asleep with boredom I found this gem, it's short and to the point. Now I can get to work in confidence, thank you very much.
@@gigibarrett1777 Assuming you’re not being sarcastic, growing grass is not usually a problem but cutting it is. A common problem I constantly see is grass cut far too short which encourages moss and bald patches. Cutter settings are best around 1 inch high, usually between setting 2 and 3 does it. Standing on grass should feel like standing on a thin quilt not tarmac.
THIS. Jim, thank you. This is exactly the video I was searching. Easy to understand and very informative. We bought a beautiful little home and it's FULL of fruiting trees/ bushes that have been neglected for years. Our apple tree is sick and overgrown. This will help me start to heal her 🙏 🍎🌳 On to more of your videos!

A really great video, very informative but short and sweet, thanks.
I watched many apple pruning videos and this was by far the best explanation, never mind the fact that you did it in three minutes...
One of the best apple tree pruning videos yet!
