I'm totally into Dragon Fruit and after 3 years I got my first fruits. No idea what type. Red Skin and Pink fruit. Enjoy your content and lessons. Thanks big time. I live in north county San Diego, Vista
Having grown up around home gardens and fruit trees all my life I’ve realized that when the fruit starts bursting open it is when it is at it’s juiciest and best tasting.
Such a great, detailed, and thorough video, Richard. I love that you try to do various tests to get an idea of what the dragon fruit tastes like. Love the deep red color on the flesh!
I just brought 3 cuttings, watched your other video about how to plant them, great info, and now I'm even more excited to grow mine since you explained how to grow and the tasting so well, thank you.

Hello. I've been started watching it your video about 3~4 days now it is a wow 👏!! Awesome to watching it! But I want some of the dragon fruits because you make me drilling watered my mouth!!! Thanks for all your dragon fruits video! Love to watching it.
I have 2 types of red dragon fruit, one is big and weighs 550 g and the other weighs about 300 g. The one that is heavy has to be hand pollinate but the smaller one is self pollinate. The inside of the big one has the same color as red jaina. But still, I love the taste of the Ecaudor ones.
Could buy some pollens from you? This year my dragon fruit was the first year having the flower buds. I did hand pollinate and failed on fruiting. It made me wonder my dragon fruit is needed to cross pollinate. All my dragon fruit plant knowledge learned from your videos. Thank you for teaching us on dragon fruits!
Awesome video! That dragon fruit variety is on my bucket list. Have you ever considered selling some of your variety cuttings? SpicyExotics is sold out, and I only have Purple Haze at the moment so I want to grow more varieties. Let me know if that's something you would consider (:
I'm excited watching this. I've struggled with my red Dragonfruit for 4 years. I bought it from a nursery. Never a flower. Only skinny straggly limbs that insist on growing upward no matter how I try to get them to drape even when I prune. Help! Any suggestions?
ikreate 4u Your dragon fruit plant could be making skinny limbs and not making fruit due to it being a plant started from seed. Dragon fruits started from seed need about 6 years to fruit while cuttings can fruit as quick as 1 to 2 years and grow much faster. Also whether your plant is from seed or cutting a lack of water sunlight or nutrients can cause them to grow skinny branches. After you water it scratch the soil and if it’s still dry underneath keep watering, sometimes when the soil gets dry it can look like you’re watering it well on top but the water is actually not penetrating into the root area due to how dry the soil is. Also if all else fails you can buy mature cuttings on eBay or Etsy for reasonable prices, I’ve had great success with those, they grow very fast and pick up where the mature plant left off. Also as far as pruning I just chop off the top of mine when they get too tall and carefully train the new branches to droop down. I hope this helps. Good luck!
Richard I have a question on dragon fruit I have a red flush and a pink flush is that self pollinate That would be awesome if you get the answer for me I love all your video it's awesome

@@RAREDRAGONFRUIT spices exotics is pretty good from what I hear. Just my only problem with them is they were out of stock for the dragon fruit cuttings aside from 3 white flesh varieties which were not the ones I wanted. Id like to start some Dragonfruit from store-bought fruits but since they take relatively long to grow i wanted to know if the seeds from store-bought dragonfruit can bear fruit or if I have to buy special seeds/cuttings?
Yeah that's possible. Red Jaina is a self sterile dragon fruit. So you need to cross pollinate it from another variety of dragon fruit, so that would work too
I have a question for you. The leaves of the dragon fruit kind of resemble aloe vera leaves. Have you found out if the leaves contain something (gel maybe) that may be useful in something? (medicinal?)
Hi Claudia, I'm currently working on a website to create a easier way for everyone to acquire my varieties of Dragon fruits. For now, its fruiting season and I won't be having cuttings available until close to November.

If the branch turn yellowish that mean you over water. Also when you have buds or flowers waters less, so the flowers won't turn yellow and fall off
