- Classic flying today ! Dedusting the Coolsky DC-9 and wanting to see how it worked in P3D v5, I was pleasantly surprised. Despite the outdated graphics the aircraft is actually very flyable and enjoyable.
Join us today on this flight from Aruba to Medellin. A thrilling approach through the clouds in Medellin.
This flight schedule is a real 1971 ALM schedule, provided thanks to my virtual airline, the Flying Tigers Group.
ALM only introduced the DC-9-30 in 1975, so this route was actually flown with DC-9-10 versions.
This airplane is fully compatible with v5??? I missed flying this beauty back in fsx
Yes it is, surprisingly !
I see you’re using the HD cockpit textures, could you tell me how you installed it? I tried before but it just would replace the cockpit’s color, not the labels and instruments.
The McPhat installation should have created a .UHDT texture folder in the F1 DC9 folder.
Then, in any plane texture folder that you have, you should edit the texture .cfg byadding a "fallback" that points to your UHDT cockpit folder.
My texture.cfg looks as this :
[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\texture.UHDT
fallback.2=..\texture
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.4=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
Of course, you could create one "UHDT" folder per cockpit texture color, as you please.
@@theflyingfrog31 Sorry for the late reply, I don't think I got a notification for your reply. Thank you very much!
Interesting, you used the right procedure for SKMD (VFR arrival), Although landing on rwy 02 is mostly used I really liked it.
Just a question, how did you set up the terrain? what kind of addon? Thanks.
Thank you for your comment :) Yes you are correct I used the VFR arrival, but I was actually flying almost at the minimums all the time. I had no choice but to use 20 because of the winds. I came in too low at first, then too high and I should have gone around.
My terrain addons are as follows :
FS GLOBAL ULTIMATE - NG 2020 Mesh
Orbx OpenLC South America
PKSIM SKRG
SierraSim SKMD
I hope this helps :)
