  • On today's episode, Vince sits down with Emmy award-winning Mexican investigative journalist, author, and editor, Peniley Ramirez.
Peniley is known for her in-depth reporting on organized crime, corruption, and government accountability in Mexico and the United States. Her latest book, Los Millonarios de la Guerra (The Millionaires of War), brings to light the corruption of Genero Garcia Luna - a former high-ranking Mexican official who worked with President Obama and President Trump on anti-cartel efforts while accepting bribes from the Sinaloa Cartel. He eventually was arrested in 2019 and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2024. Because of Peniley's reporting, several official investigations of politicians and business people in the U.S. and Latin America have taken place in the last 5 years.

The Journalist that first reported on Garcia Luna was Anabel Hernández, years before anyone.
She would be a great person to have in the show.
Anabel has some of the best information out of anyone I’ve seen or heard.

@@Highseas1988 Yes and no. Its very dangerous for very local on the ground journalists. Journalist for big News Corporations are completely safe... besides, she started her investigation when Genaro Garcia Luna was already indicted in 2019. The real journalists that reported his things while he was on power were demolished

So will Trump be able to look into the DEA switch out the ambassador?? I would not think that POTUS 47 would like the fact that he had been duped when being introduced in meeting with Luna in his first term.

Appreciate your investigative journalism in the cesspool of corruption. Hopefully, Trump will come down hard on the Mexican government's corruption. Also, targeting the American small arms smuggling across the border that is a huge problem for Mexico. At the very least, we have hit the reset button regarding cartel issues.
