  • Came across this new Tourniquet from Snake Staff Systems (love the name!), it’s their ETQ Wide. I picked one up to test and play with to see if it was something myself or my coworkers might be interested in using. Very interesting idea and design, what do you guys think?

    ETQ™ FOLDED DIMENSIONS: 4.5” Long X 1” Wide X 1" Deep

Construction: High-strength glass reinforced nylon - Milspec 4088 Type 2 webbing - Stainless steel carabiner gate.
Polymer Durability: Extensive impact strength and extreme weather tested. View Torture Test Video.
Smallest Limb Diameter. The ETQ™ has a unique design that allows it to constrict down to a 1” diameter making it suitable for use on adults, children, and canines.
EMS LE & MILITARY: The ETQ Wide™ 1.5” version is designed to meet criteria set forth by the Committee of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC). We look forward to submitting samples to CoTCCC and continue gathering real world data for when they conduct their next round of TQ evaluations.
    PATENT PENDING
Same same, but different…but still same.
We took the same features of our ETQ™ and incorporated them into a wider 1.5” TQ for backpacks, belts etc. It still conceals nicely in jeans and around 35% smaller than the standard TQ. The extra width helps with less possible tissue damage if the TQ needs to be left on for hours.
The ETQ Wide™ 1.5” version is designed to meet criteria set forth by the Committee of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC). We look forward to submitting samples to CoTCCC and continue gathering real world data for when they conduct their next round of TQ evaluations.

Absolutely, I always appreciate it when companies put out new, interesting concepts for medical EDC and really like the direction you guys took with this TQ. I look forward to getting the slimmer one in the near future and keeping an eye out for what else you guys might put out!

I absolutely agree with your observations. I got one of the wide ones as well, and now use that one on my person everyday. Still use CAT's for duty use, but hope to see them get CoTCCC approved.

For an EDC TQ, this thing rocks. I generally wear the 5.11 or Vertx jeans which have the hip mag pockets. The CAT was just a bit bulky and printed or was just plain exposed half the time, granted not a big deal with med equipment, but I also don't like drawing attention to myself if possible. The ETQ fits the bill honestly.

I Want one that I can fit into the spare magazine spot on my tier 1 axis elite holster. What would you recommend?
