Just had a pancreas transplant a week ago today! Had a living donor kidney transplant a year and a half ago. Its the stangest thing having blood levels in the 80s every time I check it. So beyond greatfull for the decision the doner made to mark that box on his licence. A greatfull thanx to surgeons like yourself.
where you type 1 or type 2? I wish it would last longer than 10-15 years...

Thats awesome! My 11 yr old daughter was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She's very sad over it so maybe she can get a pancreas that would help her mental health immensely

So happy for you brother. I had my combo kidney/pancreas transplant. All of my labs are now normal. A1C of 5.2 and creatinine of 1.1, I’m so grateful to have had these operations and for the person who Dante’s their organs.
Had my kp transplant on June 3, 1993. Still have panc connected to bladder. It is a miracle procedure.
I am in tears. Not one of me physicians EVER informed me of this procedure and I’ve been a diabetic for 32 years. I understand needing to be disciplined with eating to keep numbers as normal as possible, but this would have been a GREAT incentive for me.
Good for you for your discipline! Listening to the video, it sounds like the transplant last 10-15 years, so after 32 years, you might have already had two!
I hear you. I’ve had type 1 diabetes for 37 years and no doctor (endo or primary) ever mentioned this. I am hopeful for this and looking into it now.

While watching the video, it gives me hope for my mother's condition. my mother is a diabetic and now her kidneys were already damage that she is undergoing dialysis. And as much as I really love to bring my mother and be treated at you hospital, Philippines is far from your place and no enough money to be there.

My dream is to have a pancreas transplant I got diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago and the one considered a type II I'm being treated like a type-1 and we can't seem to get my sugars under control and I have to do 5 shots a day and I'm sick all the time. my doctor never wants to talk about letting me do that but I'd sure like to get more information.

. It would be great if you both could get that done. My daughter is getting depressed over it it's been 3 months going on 4 since she's been diagnosed. I think it's hitting her really hard now
