- In this video we'll talk all about what it's like to live in Downtown Virginia Beach, or called by people here, Town Center! Town Center is the downtown of Virginia Beach, but many often are surprised that Virginia Beach even has a downtown. We'll talk about what's in the downtown area as well as the surrounding areas and get into the pros and cons of living in the area. I will say that while it's technically a downtown area, you might find there are a lot of differences between this downtown and others in areas you might have lived near in the past!

Moved to Texas from the DMV, I miss Wegmans!!
HEB is cool but I just really like Wegmans.
What part of the DMV? Northern Va?
It's gotten nicer than when I used to live there but it's still not a real downtown. It suits it to call it Town Center. I'm just sad that the oceanfront no cursing signs were removed. That was such a classic for photos!
PF Changs is there at Town Center!!! Very popular restaurant!!!
I live in the Aragona area. Lots of houses around here for sale right now. Not too bad an area, but nothing fancy. 5-10 minute drive to Town Center, depending on the traffic and whether or not you know the shortcuts.
Grew up in Aragona. The amount of houses for sale is crazy.
Drove past my house in one of the shots
I live on oceanfront. Hes super excited. Not many ppl i met likes living here especially due to jet noice, nothing to do and homeless issue.
I personally love what they have done to the area. Virginia Beach is not an urban city so of course you cannot compare it to NYC, DC or Philadelphia. I wish they would build more condos in the town center other than the Westin and Studio 56 which are small loft apartments.
The vast majority of Virginia Beach used to be Princess Anne county.
Is Nordstrom rack still there. I need shopping

Indeed thank you Sam for your useful information. 🌹
It’s ok to just say “Town Center” dude, because that’s what it is, the center of town. It is not downtown, and it is not uptown or midtown. It is simply “town center.”
Those of us who love there do call it downtown too...
@@Murksiderock “downtown” Town Center? Cool
for tense and purpose Virginia Beach really don't have a down town averting is spread out. town center was an attempt to make a town center.
Lol for what???
@@228pf Lol. "For all intents and purposes..."
Thank you Sam, your videos are always helpful.
I always found the town center to look so tacky. Like you have one Skyscraper which is like a an expensive apartment building then everything else is lower high rise buildings. It’s like a knock off manhattan and Atlanta.
New drinking game: take a shot everytime he says "Virginia Beach".
All jokes aside, props to you man. Great video!
Estupenda información! Gracias
parts of the town center were homeless camps 20-25 years ago.
Are there any neighborhoods in the Virginia Beach area that have a small town or historic feel?
Virginia Beach is a fairly new city with most of the développement being after the 50’s. Norfolk/Portsmouth or Newport News/Hampton have much more historic homes and buildings than VA Beach.
No. You have to go further out for that. Smithfield, Suffolk, Petersburg, Elizabeth City North Carolina.
Seems it has been erased. Especially near oceanfront. Seatak is a historicaly black neighborhood that history isnt even known.
Is nandos open yet?
its supposed to open feb 6th
What town center?
Virginia Beach is so random. I moved here 2 years ago I can’t find a nice area I want to stay.
Every city in the country, downtown is where the courthouse is, maybe one day they'll figure it out
Virginia Beach doesn't have a downtown. Town center is not a real downtown.
I remember when “downtown” was nothing but trees. Come a long way.
Name a metropolitan town that doesn' have traffic congestion. Maybe in Montana or Wyoming?
@sam sansalone Thalia is pronounced "Dal-ya"...
We r a very conservative family... is this area pro lgbt?
Thanks and I would like to say your video is so cool.
Yes its called vibe district
Thanks
Not for me.
Hows the parking ? N cost to park?
No cost to park in the parking garages in Town Center. There are 5 parking garages total and you only have to worry about parking in restricted spots or spots with a time limit. It is cool because almost each block of town center has a parking garage in the middle of it.
What if I wanna live on the waterfront?
$500k to a million will get you there.
@@dzl8596 Sadly, I don't have that much money.
What zip code is this
23462, i believe.
are there any apartments?
Not IN Town Center. Too trendy for that. You have to look a few miles away.
Yes they are pricey Premier and Encore are 2. Sometimes people rent their condos in the Westin bldg.
Downtown is so laughable because where is downtown??? To me it’s just a small itty bitty portion of Crystal city in Arlington and the rest is just suburban style shopping centers lol.
