Great list, Ben. For those on medication, I would recommend putting some of that in your day bag as well.. or emergency meds eg I get migraines so I always carry a few doses of migraine meds with me because I never know when an attack may happen.
A bag on the front isn’t safe from pick pockets or someone just slashing the strap unless it’s tamper resistant. Someone I know just had their bag cross over chest like yours and their stuff was gone. FYI on a cruise ship they go to your room and go through your stuff to get your passport if it’s likely you’ll miss the boat then leave it with port officials so people can travel. I know someone who had this happen to their traveling companions although luckily they made it back just in time. I’ve found it’s seen as more common in countries where a passport is peoples ID. For people who may have two other IDs it just seems superfluous to carry a physical copy of it. Also, not all countries are as hassle free about replacing a lost passport so you have to keep that in mind.
I dont carry my passport with me when i am out and about because i dont want to take the chance of losing it, having it stolen etc etc. My passport is my safety net.
