All these comments here about what you should and shouldn’t be doing….. I just want to say thanks for sharing this lesson very valuable info here. You asked questions to help your game and are valid to anyone of your experience in the game. The dudes try a tell you what you should and shouldn’t be doing should go pay for their own lesson with this coach, and post their own vid on RUclips…but they won’t or cant
Yep, this video shows the true value of golf lessons. Imagine trying to work all this out yourself - you'd have virtually no hope. A huge chunk of your golf budget should go on great coaching like this. Well done Jerome - now for lots and LOTS of practice 🎉
Wow more negative and picky comments than I expected. The man is learning a new sport and showing free lessons for people to view. Making mistakes etc is very relatable, keep up the good work!
Not only is your game impressive for how long youve been playing. But the quality of these videos are crazy good. Screen graphics, camera work, mic'd up. Good stuff.
It’s so true! You can be a champ on the range and get destroyed on the course. All the different lies and variables in the actual game are insane! Plus hitting off a mat vs grass is a huge difference!! Keep up the struggle Jerome.
Fellow San Diegian here. Love the content. If you haven't already, play Colina Park. It's a short 18-hole par 3 that's also decently challenging, which makes for the perfect place to practice your short game. Only two or three clubs are needed so your dont even need to carry a bag.
I feel like this was unbelievably complicated instruction for someone just learning the game of golf. I would highly recommend you check out Dan Grieve's book "The Three Releases". I would have liked to see any coach start with explaining the fundamental pieces of short game decisionmaking - what's the lie, what does the bounce on the club do, what types of release give different effects. The coach jumped around between lofting/delofting, changing ball position, changing wrist set, changing swing tempo, changing swing length - this was basically a lifetime of short game content in one lesson. I would want to see any coach give you the tools to make decisions on lie analysis, club selection, set up, and selecting where a good miss is, rather than teaching you hyper-specific single scenario shots.
@@rickyt0411 I concur! I bought Dan's book last year about 8 months ago and since then have just focused on Release #1 to master and BARELY working on release #2. It is a great book and has helped my short game greatly!!! Jerome I highly recommend going to see Dan!!!
Got this a pro. Count all the shots you take from 100 yards or less in a round of golf. You should aim for 36. I’m a 1 handicapper. I was off 4 first time I tried it I shot 77 off yellow tees. I took 47 shots. I was spending way too much time practicing my long game. I have taken 34 before. Every time I take 36 shots I normally break 70. Give it a try. I’ve watched your videos you hit a decent ball but you need to know how to score. I’ve played with guys who have been as low as 1 or 2 their swings look crap but they can chip and putt brilliantly
25:12 jerome i would love to see you put in some serious hours hitting shots like this around the green. literally just playing around working on your feel not really thinking much about mechanics at all just using your feel and athleticism. at this point it'd go farther than pounding balls off of mats
I am wondering if your different coaches are watching your lessons with the other coaches. The have different point of views and pedagogy. They could learn a thing or two watching their student in other hands. Anyway, thank you very much for your channel, it's so interesting, I root for you fir achieving your goal.
Yeah Rick and Dana are going to be working in tandem together and I tell the other on what I’m working with, with the other so it should start complementing more
As soon as players get the first hint of being able to hit the ball they see the flag and shoot at it. Every pin is a sucker pin. If you shoot at a flag imagine the course designer laughing at you. Do not ever shoot at a flag (unless it's match play and your opponent is 3')
Like most rules it golf, it's an honor system. If you play with the slope setting on, thats on you and your choice to break the rules. No problem random rounds with your friends, but in a tournament, you definitely cheated.
Depends on what you're playing in. Many local leagues don't enforce the rule. If you were playing state championship or some other USGA event, then the rule would actually be in place. You'd be penalized if reported. Of course you're also expected to have honor and report yourself if you realize your mistake.
Dude, your questions often indicate you are over complicating everything. You must be at the range several times a week. If you want to know whether to hold off your follow through on a 25 yard pitch shot, why not just try it on the range. And get an answer.
what if...... after all these coaches and as his ability to control his movements.....he actually finds his own swing. its like you watching these vids- why watch if there's too many wrong questions/information? His questions tend to be about his feeling in the movement, definitely valid questions
First impression, 7 min in. You swing. then start going through your routine. Takes quite awhile before u are able to start hearing the coach and even longer before u can even try to apply what this guy is trying to impart to you. Will watch the rest and see if it continues through the whole video.
Lot of words, time, teachers, and still can t make a good 80y approach wth 3 or 4 trials? Nothing against the format, but it should be said that you seem to be under the average level of ability for a guy your age with good physical skills, even for just one year of golfing full time…

High quality coaching all the way. It is like a dream come true. And you are living it. And we are enjoying every bit of it. Good Luck.
Seriously the best coach.. working through all of this thought process and analysis is how you build basis of intuition at fastest rate possible.

Thanks! Just want to keep improving the game and also the channel. 2024 is the year for S2!!

this is great info for the average golfer! thank you for sharing your lessons
Nice work, Jerome! I learn so much watching these lessons, thank you for posting.

And the greens are pretty great for the value!
Will check it out!
This instructor is very impressive. Those are some challenging chips.

What a journey. How fortunate for you
7:43 I loved how you addressed that. I have the same dilemma. Feels like it ruins my tempo.
Thanks for posting!
This dude is the king of click bait titles.
great lesson!
You should take a trip and go learn from Dan grieve .that would be dope .

This is my favorite coach of yours! (Chris is a close second)
Rick is great! :) a lot of more amazing content with him coming this year

Bro time for a mental lesson from bob rotella?
You STOOD up on both shots!
Not uploaded in last few days hope all is well
Just trying to keep improving the production value. Next video coming out this week! Hopefully you guys will like it!
Just adopt the Jason Day chipping & pitching technique & be done with it ! 👍
Poor alignment at 7:05?

Need to tell your videographer to either film directly in front or directly behind
I think he should caddy or coach u thru a round for u instead of this.. I think there’s more value in that
2:44 is that even enforced? i played in a few last year with slope setting on and was never questioned about my rangefinder

But the questions are good for his experience in the game
His questions are perfect for his viewers. He needs to keep it up!
@@fullofshiftbut not for him if he wants to become “scratch”
Exactly dude is moving from one coach to another having too many thinking problems will ruin his swing…

bebettergolf
Easy way to call it, a pitch shot is over waist height
20 minute lesson on a shot Just hit ball. Overthink or thinking to much when playing recipe for disaster IMO.

That pretty much sums it up. Dude is just generating content and not really trying to get better
Bro how many different lessons do you need? How many different teachers are you going through? Golf ain’t that hard bro
