As a child during the war and a proud Scot who remembers sheltering during the bombing of Govan in Scotland from 1941 onwards, I feel rather sad that we Scots are ignored. the suffering we went through feels like we were marginalised when they referred to the "English" when they spoke of Britain. Our family suffered as many Scots and others did in those dark times, and were not alone when I had an uncle killed liberating Holland and another who tragically drank himself to death when he returned after being a prisoner of the Japanese. It is a sad truth for many soldiers and is largely forgotten, for some the war never ended in 1945 it left many scarred and and fighting their own battles long after the bombs stopped falling and the guns were silent.
My father had secrets he could not talk about. Even on his death bed he took them to the grave. I'm so Thankful he served. He wasn't even a man. He was a child. He signed up underage. Today so many do not know what they went through for us all.

Like it or not, some things have to be censored to abide by RUclipss guidelines. If it isn't, it can be demonitized, age restricted, or sometimes both. I will say the way they enforce these regulations are often hypocritical and unfair, but ultimately there isn't much we can do about it. As frustrating as it is, it's best if we're thankful we get to see this documentary at all.
