Did david have good intentions from the start? or was he forced into his kill mode? the movie never clears it up but i do notice that in some scenes david expresses some kind of facial or physical expression that shows he doesn't want to kill the people he needs to kill but has to because he's programmed that way.

Though some of his methods were extreme and questionable, I think he definitely was there to assist them. Hence why he's even seen at the end helping with laundry. But was forced into his kill mode by the fact he'd been exposed, the programming designed so that he never leaves anybody alive to speak of him. Until, that is, he is stabbed and can convincingly fake his own death. Hence why he praises the kid and gives him a thumbs up for it.
That's why I think he's cursing after killing the mother and annoyed when he sees the dad, as it means he has to kill him (a witness). This then means he has to kill the kids, as they'd know he's the main suspect, and then by looking for them he has to kill the diner. He's basically forced to not just cover his tracks but erase the entire chain connecting back to him. Most likely from him being used on covert missions when he was held by that company.

I can believe that but this movie shows that david is not fucking dumb but half of his behavior was so unnecessary to benefit the family like the bar scene, killing the dads boss etc, and by watching the movie you eventually pick up that David isn't super observant either, sure he was super observant and aware at the party, but multiple times has the teen chick sly her shit past him, military police catching him offguard for a sec, etc. If he were to be more hyper-aware of his surroundings and situations and just blended in until he wanted to disappear, he could've did that. but idk its just a movie lmao

It's a very low budget film that was distributed by an independent company and only opened in 19 theaters and made 2.7 million dollars. So it's not surprising that many people haven't heard of it or seen it. The only reason I knew of this film is because I watch the latest movie trailers. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't know this film existed neither.

No its not man. There isn't a huge splattering of blood when you get shot like that. Theres no dramatic standoff as you gracefully fall over. Either your knees are gonna instantly give and you drop straight to the ground, or you writhe around in pain for a few minutes as you bleed out. This is about as far from a realistic gunshot as you can get

What i didn't like about this movie was they never explained what his motivation was for targeting this family to kill them. It needed more of a back story.
I think he was basically trying to take the identity of his friend and if the family knew them they would’ve reported the military basically that’s what I think tho

They were programmed to be emotionless killers making them more effective at their job. They were also programmed to kill anyone and everyone to protect their identity. This was mentioned at the end with the military guy and the teenage girl.

Love movies like this where you don’t quite know what is going to happen or what someone might do. Basically they had a vision for a story and stayed true to the characters they wrote, not what formula they thought would satisfy the widest demographic.
This character is a prime example of an antagonist who isn't the bad guy. He just wanted to live in peace and look after his friends family. But once the government came looking the monster they made him into was awoken
Because the other girl told her what was going on and that he wasn't who he says he was plus he's tying up all the loose ends by killing anyone he interacted with
David was programmed like a machine. He feels no emotion or sympathy or even remorse he acts on instinct or impulse. You can see him trying to feel something but he can’t because all his feelings and emotions have been completely stripped from him. This is the first movie I have ever seen where the main character is the Hero & the Villain at the same time.
