Each car has a transponder on it and it counts every time you pass the flag stand and the time duration of each pass and some tracks include a one way receiver you place in your helmet to receive instructions from the scoring tower the transponder system is actually very reliable
At the Speedrome they use transponders. Each car has one. The markers below the big yellow tires on the track are sensors that pick up the transponders. For oval races they also use the sensors at the finish line.
There would be tighter racing action around the whole track if the infield wasn't all asphalt also to where the cars end up going 10 wide to clear one another at the intersection
This track and Orange Show speedway are the only tracks where the entire surface of the track is totally paved. It gives the drivers a way to escape the intersection. Most of the other figure 8 tracks this guys race at have grass infields. But i do agree with it would be tighter racing. Louisville Speedway figure 8 had side by side racing every Friday night with a great car count back in the 1990’s
@@kycats8700 I used to run the figure eights in my part of Michigan on a regular basis when they had them here it was a lot funner than racing on the circle track itself they still have figure eights down there at that track or are they done doing that pretty much like they have in my area in Michigan
When Kentucky Speedway was built, the owners bought Louisville Speedway for truck series date it had, kept it open a year then sold the land to UPS to build warehouses. We have Sportsdrome Speedway just across the river, where Outlaw Figure 8 is the top division.
I wish there was a Nascar level figure 8 racing. These guys clearly have funding and fans are showing up. Brings tv time to local tracks like the SRX did. But what do I know. I don't know of any figure 8 racing in north Mississippi/Southwest TN. Never been to one of these and I would definitely go to one
I host a podcast for this track and I can tell you that the vast majority of these drivers are out of pocket on these cars. The passion these guys have is amazing. We were lucky enough to interview the winner of this year's race and that episode drops this Wednesday.
Okay I got to go to a figure 8 Race. This is some good action. If I could afford one of these cars I be out there. And I would love every single minute of it.
In other words, the Tunny world championship figure eight race. You can just about count on one of them winning the race. They ALWAYS DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting to be just a bit ridiculous with these Tunny s always winning. Time for someone else to win.
Oh man!! Please release all the fig 8 shows from this past year
this is the most insane racing ive ever scene
This type of racing is wild. I have seen one in person and it made you dizzy🙃
Years ago it used to be a weekly class in Michigan
This is insane. I thought this type of racing was a novelty act in the 1960s.
Even with electronics how do you keep up with who's leading? Pretty impressive to be able to know the place of everyone
I went to the 1 hour endurance lap race and it is nearly impossible to keep track of who is in lead and how many laps each car is down

heart attack every lap!!
My nerves would t be able to take this lol.
Idon't know which is more important. Guts or skill. Iadmire them so much. Regards from England. March, 2023.
Be nice if this race wasnt on World 100 weekend, why we never get to go
