Something I like about The Electric Swing Circus and a couple other bands is clearly a lot of effort goes into their songs and it shows. There's actual lyrics and a good sound to the song. The whole package just works. A lot of electro swing out there is just filler -- someone mixed a couple lyrics on repeat from an old swing song with one or two soundbites from the original song and filled the background with a generic electro swing beat... and this sounds good when you first discover the genre. But eventually I started to realize how repetitive and unsatisfying this filler. When I was really craving some *quality* electro swing, Electro Swing Circus came to the rescue.
I know what you mean. I like listening to various remixes of songs, and it's really clear when someone put in effort into a song versus a bunch of random wubs around a few lyrics.
I think Jamie Berry is a good option, his collabs with Octavia Rose are many of my favourites in the genre and basically how I defined electroswing in general. He does have some remixes similar to what you mentioned but also provides many original songs.
