Thanks for doing this. I took my kids there in 1994 when it was still operational and it gave them an idea of how large the original Alamo compound was at the time of the battle. May the Shahans rest in peace; they gave us all wonderful memories.

As a sidelight, I was a young boy of nearly 10 years old when The Alamo was being filmed on Happy Shahan's ranch outside Bracketville. I was going to a summer camp within the confines of Ft. Clark (another GREAT history story that begs for a drone) adjacent to Las Moras Creek which was fed by Las Moras Springs.
Somehow the camp managers were able to get an invitation for the campers to attend a barbeque for the cast on the Shahan ranch. We were able to meet the crew and cast. I had a chance to meet John Wayne and Richard Widmark. Mr. Wayne was extraordinarily gracious with his time with us.
I went back to Alamo Village multiple times. It was a special place and breaks my heart to see it in ruins.

Went here back in the early to mid 80s while fam was on vacation on the Frio River in Concan. I remember stage coaches and gun fights in the streets. I sure hope it comes back some day to go visit again

I am certain that at least portions of it are still there. We need to reach out and do a status update on Alamo Village.

I was out there (Brackettville) backing the late 80s on a photoshoot and locals were telling me of the Alamo Village, sadly, I had no time to visit. Hopefully, it will open one day soon.
It's a cool place...and in the late 80's you would have still been able to get in! Not sure the current state of Alamo Village. We shot this a few years ago.
@@ExpeditionTexas visited the village twice , first in 95, then again in2007.

How do you get access to visit the property??
The owners at the time were able to give permission and to take us there.
