The music here is distracting, unnecessary and quite ridiculous. The words of Dr. Cone here are so profound that no sound-track is needed to make it better.
“Jesus failed”? 🙄😳 Jesus said in the garden” Not my will, but let thou will be done”. God has never failed in anything. Nor has Jesus. Men yes, Jesus never. Ridiculous statement.
I do not think that Jesus failed. He came and He did exactly what the Father wanted Him to do. He succeeded. I think that Mr. Cone stated other thngs well but, missed on this point. Jesus' success did not come in that He preserved His own life or of those 12 who followed Him. The Lamb was BORN to BE SLAUGHTERED. If we are to speak of REDEMPTION, this SLAUGHTER cannot be absent. For this reason, I am watchful of CRYPTIC speech amongst men.
I need this man to speak in every church in my area! This is what it is all about and he has nailed all of this stuff to the floor-everything has become about how to get rich and all of that! Ultimate Sucess-now i like that! Jesus gives us Ultimate Success! Peace! Midiman
Look at success in the spirit and not the natural. The natural is for the non-believer who believes they know how "the thing" is gonna turn out. We've lost it being so caught up on assimilating into the larger culture.
cont...My son, who's 12, was recently in a professional play called "Quindaro" it was a/b the town of Quindaro Kansas that was built by native Americans, freed slaves, & white abolitionists. Black people & women could vote, Quindaro was aiding in the underground railroad & the town was flourishing! There were more white people at this play than black people & I saw tears everywhere. I watched it 12 times & cried every time. America's come much further than Cone wants to give it credit for.
James Cone doesn’t need background music.

One of the most blasphemous statements I’ve ever heard…his theology is so erroneous it’s ridiculous.
Why the background music tho?😤
the music is too loud.
Why is there even a need for music to accompany this message? It's just a distraction.
The gospel is absolutely not a gospel of failure! This has always been Gods plan! This is heresy!

Black does not translate into Anti-White. You can be culturally concious and Christianly inclusive. Dr. Cone is definitely speaking truth.
14 years later and this video still makes me smile.....love Dr. Cone

Amen. For all churches not just the black church.

what's up with the background music?

You got it right on point. 1 Tim 3:16 and 1 John 5:7&19.
