A demo of the Polyend Tracker putting together a couple of old school classics in a fun little mashup. The Tracker is a super cool little thing - very sexy and feels great to use. Hours disappear when you're having this much fun!

This is a masterclass of use of the Polyend Tracker!
Finally someone making music with the Tracker and not just talking about the specs and how to use it!
Literally the best video related to this production tool. So glad I bought one and have this video as a reference.
I love that you do little things us synth heads like and not just typical reviews.
Nice one - it’s why we like them after all 😀
So THATS where that sample came from!
Grandmothers record collection 🤩
Starsky I’ve watched this video 10 times at least. This is my favorite music production video on this infernal website. Thanks for making such a jam on one device- it is inspirational.
High praise indeed. Thanks. 👍
I just bought the Tracker -- now watching all my fave Tracker vids as I wait for it to arrive.. Tx for influencing my decision, great video!
Final tune is banging.
Nice one - if only I’d done it 30 years ago 😂😂
WOW! So cool! Will watch over and over again. Love it! ❤ Pleeeeeeze more Polyend Tracker tutorials / inspiration like this, Starsky! 🙏
Probably the single most helpful video I’ve seen about the tracker workflow. I’m coming from using a Digitakt and your flow is very similar to mine of that except the tracker streamlines a lot of the things that took quite a bit more brainpower on the DT (at least given the firmware i was using back in 2019)
Starsky this video is incredible, great value on how you can handle these machines.
I really liked the trick of doing polyphony and rendering and then chopping a track, this is a masterful video.
Congratulations for this great work and for your great channel.
I was a young local Chicago DJ back in the 90s it was the greatest time to be alive, I played everything House, Techno, alternative dance, Industrial music, and some Jungle/DnB. But when I played this track it had everyone dancing even the Goth people will rise from the dark corners and get on the dance floor, 😂
I remember when it was released. MASSIVE!! Then I heard my mums Chicago album and was gobsmacked by how simple the track was… simple but brilliantly effective. Genius.
Street sounds swirling through my mind. 👍
Through you mi I I I ind
Really enjoyed this video, the Tracker always kind of mystified me and it was helpful to see your workflow while making a track. I’m a synthesis and keyboardist and I’ve never been able to get into sampling workflows. I never would have thought to eg sample the organ chords and play the rhythm on the pads but it sounds great!
That was dope! This is an awesome instrument. It really expands the creative landscape! Salute!
Thanks... :)
DUDE! Thank you for the groovy start to my Tuesday!
Really nice beat! A lot of groove there. Thanks to your Grandmother😊🙏🤩
Always thanks to grandmother :)
not got one but there is something very very pleasing about that little bugger - just looks great - lightweight, clean, easy - just those teeeeny pads....great stuff as always fella
One of the best demo's ever! Love it
This was a lot of fun. Laughed hard at the "instagram plant" bit, I've been wondering why my music sounds rubbish, it's clearly because I don't have a plant on the table.
🌳🌵☘️🌱🌿🍀🎹🎛🎹🍀🪴🦚🌵☘️🌳. Now you’ve cracked it!
love this educational vibe.
Wow, that was phenomenal! What a piece of kit. I have a new found reverence for your epic twiddling capabilities! Really top job, I need one of these in my life, another one for the "list"... Enjoyed that a lot, thanks. All best from North Yorks. 🖖😊
Thanks... it was fun to put together.
Thanks for the inspiration . I’m now determined to figure out how to funk my Tracker .
Starsky adding a DJ mode to the Polyend Tracker…boy, that was a lot of work 😆
More house re-creations plz this was fun!
The part where you're rendering the Gypsy Woman chords bit (and chords in general) - it's much easier to just export them as one file and then use one of the slice types on the whole sample.
Programming the render section with the smallest gap possible means you don't take up any more memory, it saves a shitload of time and keeps it as one easy to find sample for later use.
definitely... I was demoing how you could bounce down .. trying to show lots of options.
@@StarskyCarr It's just a simpler way to do the exact same thing. Only one naming to do, and less 'sample management' in project as well. Finding workflow shortcuts on the PET is one of the most fun parts of using it. :)
Sausage making videos are my favourite! 😀 Nice work on this one, love seeing Tracker get some love. How easy/difficult is that resampling part for doing the chords?
Super easy to do the re sampling. Just select the parts and click re sample… re simple :)
Oh and I love sausages
Excellent video! Thank you!
Thanks. The Tracker made it easy to put together.
Really cool! Love both of these songs, love the Polyend Tracker too!
Nice :)
Had to come back to like, subscribe, and hear this 🔥 again
Hey hey… nice one.
Really nice work here! ✨👍🏾 you made me want to pull out my Polyend 🤣
Whoaw there… not in public.!
Very nice work sir! Thank you, I picked up a ton of tips!
Nie to hear... the big one for me is using fill to do filter sweeps. I always thought it only affected a sound if there was a note on the same step. turns out it act just like anything else and the FX modulate the tone that's playing (which is obvious when you think about it). Any other things that aren't clear let me know and I may make another. :)
Starsky ure the man, 👍 always uplifting and inspirational to hit ya' channel ❤️☯️🙏😃
Great to hear glad you liked it.
How do you setup the midi keyboard to play samples, like you did on the organ part? Great video bye
You need to enable MIDi in on the config page.
Love it! Great editing and format too.
I'll admit I've never heard your actual music despite watching literal hours of synth comparisons from ya.
Really tasty track. Reminding me a bit of Chemical Brothers darkness that the fear. A newer jam from em.
More please !!!! Lova that !!! :)
Sweet. I shoulda gotten one of these. Maybe still will ;-) Cheers
Excelente 🍄
Very nice video. THX!
I had to get my S#*t together…this is just amazing 👍👍👍
I love it.

🤩😀🤩😀
ha man this is great
cheers.
👍👍👍
Awesome house track! Where can I get those drum samples?
Ive uploaded everything to my Patreon page
😁😁😁
🤩🤩🤩
Super great jam man!! Dying to get one of this. Gut feeling that will draw out my best creativity. Thing is, I don't know shit about music theory (yet) and all those scrolling notes scares me. Is a tracker suitable for non musicians make dope grooves?
DOn't be put off by the scrolling notes - its just another way of showing what's going on. If you don't now about music theory its probably not as much of an issue anyway. DAWs can show notes in a piano roll or musical score - but if you don't know music that's of no use either :). The biggest difference to something like an MPC is the pads are much smaller so it's not as easy to play live. Finger drumming for example is probably easier on something with 16 large pads... but then playing notes is easier on the 48 smaller pads as you can access 4 octaves at the same time.
@@StarskyCarr thanks a lot Starsky. Somehow I feel that's the box that will change my life kkk. Talk soon =]
Might seem like a dumb question but Can play the white keys like a keyboard..I assume you can otherwise it would just be a fancy looper and total deal breaker.
Yes you can. Each row is an octave.
@StarskyCarr okay thanks ..is it easy to make music on , it's got to be simple for me, otherwise I'll put it to one side and never touch it again 😂
Remember the Fasttracker II...?😅
I don't... was it a software tracker?
@@StarskyCarr yes it was, The program works natively under MS-DOS. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FastTracker_2 It remind me the software surface
Yep! I still use it :) there's a clone for modern OS's
Wicked job! Polyend are really pushing the influencer marketing 😀
Not sure I’m an influencer… and not sure I can influence anyone. If only I could even influence my kids to fill the dishwasher 🤷♂️
Can you upload samples from Amiga sample packs into the polyend tracker?
Anything in the right format. 16 but mono (I think). If they’re not in the right format there’s loads of free stuff to convert them.
Amazing workstation to dig it, i do love the old “skool” trackers, iv started with them.
Unfortunately the tracker has a very bad sync, if you need to export all this to a daw…enjoy the never fix polyend bug instead of make the new mini with more power cpu and usb audio…thnx polyend. Ill never buy nothing from them again.
It... sounds just like the 1995 mashup... of Street Player. :)
Because that's what it is :) Using the same Chicago Street Player track sampled from the original vinyl.. with a bit of Gypsey Woman thrown in for good measure. Old school Mashup.
Now im going to say the truth! The arturian midi chords played sounded very strange, like a sliding tri tone when recording them in, then the samples sounded very clicky!
Other then that the gypsy woman song is a great classic of our common past youth.
Yeah I video’d the first attempt then used a longer sample later - which is heard in some of the track but the original is in other parts. If releasing as a finished product I’d go back and re-record - but my Mac had to go back to Apple for repair, and I hoped no-one would notice 🤦♂️😂🤷♂️😂
@@StarskyCarr :-)
are you considering to offer the MODs for download?
What are the MODs? Sorry for being an idiot!
@@StarskyCarr FolkerHQ
back in the 80s/90s the Amiga had that Paula audio chip and the trackers were invented. The files were called MODULEs. Today there are some file formats like XM, IT, MOD. These files contain the notes and instrument data with the samples and also the effects. So in short a "MOD" the file format that stores your song. It is much smaller than the complete song as WAVE rendered, because it contains only the samples and notes like you have created it in your Polyend Tracker. It should be possible to import MODs as well into the Polyend Tracker and listen to other creations.
@@StarskyCarr I guess, today came out the new firmware for the Polyend Tracker v 1.6, I could do the following on my Polyend Tracker: [ File ] | Export | Export as .it that saves an IT-file into the MOD folder on the microSD card. That IT-file can be re-played in e.g. VLC media player on the computer.
