    Nice vid, I haven't tried this technique. If I understand correctly, you are popping the sheet, then give a bit of windward helm, and the mast falls when it falls. I couldn't get the link to work.

      That is pretty much all there is to it. Except you are releasing the forestay, and turn upwind / away from the boom, and it will gently fall.

    if you get blown over, how do you right the kayak?

      You get back in your kayak just the same way as you would without a sail. It is very easy to avoid flipping over. A little common sense is all it takes.
      Most people would do a paddle float re entry or assisted re entry.

      Somebody had a question, and I picked the best video I could find.
      Unfortunately, this guy uses the technique so well & does it so fast, you can hardly see it happening.
      But narration is very helpful. It will show the technique.
