Allison transmission PTO install 2000 series Muncie.

Brand new PTO on my Allison 2100 in a 07 Freightliner M2 that I'm going to use as a rollback. I hope this video helps with what to expect if you are looking to do a PTO install on a transmission.

I do 3 pto- pump installs a day on 4500 Allison. Good video! Torque specs,
Loctite and rtv ultra black are your friends.

iDid you add a support bracket to help support the rear of the PTO and added weight of the pump like Allison reccomends

I actually did not. I haven't seen any info about a bracket but it's still going strong no issues. I have 2 other trucks with similar pto setups that are factory installed and neither have a support bracket either.

Did you have to run a wire from switch to transmission module

I didn't. I think if you did a hot shift set up you may have to do something like that.

Yes you have to hook up to the transmission module on the pto wire to put the system in pto mode or you will burn up the torque converter.

What can cause a PTO to not come on? See on the dash that the PTO is on but it doesn't do anything. I feel like it could be the solenoid valve near the pump

Try passing direct current from the battery to the solenoid valve. If it works then you have an electrical problem. If it doesn't then PTO is fried

I just bought this truck with 2500 trans. the one transmission manual I read said it should work in drive but I'm also seeing not
