So here’s the thing… I’ve never done NaNoWriMo before and this is my first year. I’m really excited to try, and I’m going to use the site. I don’t plan on participating in the forums since I don’t like social media a ton anyways. I’m really just using it to track my words as a way to motivate myself. I get that there have been issues, but like you said, there’s issues everywhere. I’ve been raised to be very cautious online and never use my real name/give information anyways. Best of luck to all those writers out there and stay safe!
With any luck the board of directora who stepped in will be able to double down on their efforts to prevent this without ruining the nanowrimo experience. Even if a lot of people are quitting the platform as a reaction, the whole thing could bounce back in time so long as nothing else goes disasterously wrong.
Maybe it's just me because I only started my first Nanowrimo. Maybe , I'm just an Idealist but I don't think that just because there were rotten people there , I don't think everyone should pay the price for just two rotten people. I admit I was very disappointed at first when I read the news but then, I decided to stay anyway Simply because I don't believe it's necessary to cancel something that gives so much joy over a problem that was fixed , though after so many complaints . Nothing and nobody is perfect and life is short. Of course there are things you should stay away from things that don't serve you but i have noticed that there were things I wish I knew when I started to write ( at age 11). However, I understand why people angry. But in my eyes , it helped me unblock the writer's block
National Novel Writing Month. It’s basically a challenge to write 50,000 words in November. There is a site and forums for it run by a non profit, which is what this video is about, but many people like myself just participate on our own!

Thanks for the summary! I returned to find things in ashes but no one was explaining what had happened.
@@KazuyaDarklight yeah it was a mess!
@@patrick_nilanus too. We are deciding not to use it anymore. But to find an alternative 🤔
How am I only just learning about this 😨Just learned about their whole AI controversy as well
It is coming closer to November. Maybe that’s why
Nano helped me finish three 50K novels. That sucks.
@@milestrombley1466 I’ve never finished it 😢 😂

Ayeeee I know you from your instagram content! I didn’t know you had a RUclips! Subscribed 👍
Thanks for all the support 😃
This whole thing is crazy
You dont need a company to help you write in November🙄
I do it on my own all the time. This year I challenged myself to write 50k in a year!

For me I think it is easier to just participate without using the site!
I never did the forms or camps; i just did Nanowrimo. I’ll do it this year too. But might stop afterwards
@@sharkpoolbolt662 imma try to do it in one week
@@patrick_nilan i couldn’t do that 😝 But best of luck
which forums are still open?
@@billgriggs8768 I actually have no idea, I don’t really associate with NaNoWriMo
I don’t bother with the forums. I plan on still participating this year because it’s fun.
@@Calibizaro I’ll be doing my own variation
I could never get involved with the whole "nanowrimo community" because I don't vibe with all the annoying wokeshit.

@@patrick_nilan Oh, thank you so much. Does it happen only in November or they host in other months too?
