Probably should keep the standard guitar terminology and call the A string the 'top' string. The G string is the 'bottom'.

Ya I hear you. I find that can get confusing for ukulele beginners though, especially when that 4th string is not the lowest note for most. Maybe I'll just try to saying 4th, or G string. ;) thanks!
