It’s also not a guarantee that you’ll lose population, there’s still a roll to see whether or not someone needs to be sacrificed
Which is all the more annoying when the game treats it like Süleyman's unique unit. Granted they did not always have gunpowder weapons but it is not like it belonged to one sultan

I actually always play with a random leader, other random civs, and shuffle map. Exploration is so much more fun when you truly dont know what type of map you are discovering!
I have a map setup calllled ‘random bullshit go’ with the got lakes mod, set everything to random. It’s great. One tile island start? Jep. The whole map just flat desert? Also jep. Perfectly balanced dopamine-inducing map? Jep

You should consider playing a game with the gobekli tepe mod. It's very simple, just adding a wonder at Animal Husbandry that improves bonus resources. It could be fun with a number of civs, but especially Kupe since you can't harvest them.

Turn 175, religious domination with vanilla Ghandi. No savescum, only chill play. Suprised how well PC was playing. Also I prefer barb mode, that's less though.
At 24:58 why didn't you settle on the plains hill, buy the Horse title and improve it? That gets the boost and would have been loyal from turn 1 while also having 2 2/2 titles from the start

I find its a balance to enjoy this game at times. Planning too much just feels overwhelming and not as fun. But just plodding along without a plan feels aimless. The best games are ones that have an intension. Like something you havnt done before. I admire your resistance to getting bored of this game lol

I pressed play now my first time I played CIV 6. I don't think I've ever done it since. I think I have about 20 hours in Civ 6. I've never won in less than 150 turns, one of those was a faith victory. I get bored of a military victory and usually transition into a science victory after I've conquered half the map and am a million miles ahead. I think I might have won a few quicker if I kept going.

I've pressed that button when trying to work out which mod/mod clash is making the game crash. Quickest, or at least easiest, way to load into a game for this purpose I find.
5:48: I am not so far into the video, but i would think i would have gone for conquest together with something else, say like religion. While u are killing your own continent you can put up a religion which u can then spread to the next continent as quickly as possible. Since its prince, the AI wont be able to stand a chance in combat so it might be able to be done with very few troops as well. Lets see what Ursa does :)
I bet someone already said this, however, I wonder if you could one shot the setteler and warrior if you spread crusade first... that could have been 37 vs 18 damage.

and they get a campus with a ranged attack only sad thing is that Granada gets replaced, but I have a Georgian spirit so I prefer Iruña and the bonus amenities for walls anyway

Hello, dumb question. I didn't quite understand the concept of a "culture puppet." (Granted, I barely understand cultural victory at all, even though I've watched multiple videos and read multiple essays on the matter.) Why is it important that the opponent remain undefeated?
as long as a civ is in the game you can drain tourists from them. if you eliminate them, you effectively lose a fraction of your tourism but you don't lower the "bar" that you need to hit to win the victory One of the best ways to win a culture victory is to collect a bunch of these puppets. You farm them for tourists but they can never really fight back!!
I do wonder if culture or religion is the route to take for a prince difficulty speedrun like this. I can see religion being incredibly quick to pull off, but does sort of require you to have enough faith to flood out missionaries early and also follow them up with apostles for the few civs that managed to make their own religion.
For some civs the difficulty doesn't matter when it comes to being able to take full advantage of civ and leader abilities, like the Ottomans. Other civs will be considerably less useful with their abilities on Prince than they would be on something like diety, like the Mapuche or India.
So on Prince the Ai wont settle as many cities, wont build era appropriate walls if at all, and wont do much in terms of spreading religion and engaging in theological combat. The barb tendencies are also different as they are less aggressive and might do things like leave civilian units alone instead of taking them. You can have embarked units that might be left alone by boats. The AI might even do a one city challenge because they wont be able to deal with the barbs. You'll have a nice army prepped, get the fog of war cleared, then realize a wet paper bag would have been far mire challenging to than the city. Janissarys can easily conquer the world, no question about it. No seige necessary. Seige tower/ram janissaries and the AI is done. Horsemen rush is also very useful but, requires horses. Dont expect to do a ton of pillaging because they just flat out wont improve most things until far too late. Barbary corsairs will probably be useless, instead of S tier like on harder difficulties.

in civ 5 it saves the last games preset like map size, recources etc. But excited for a nice ottoman game
My first civ victory ever was a Kongo attempted domination that ended up a culture victory at about turn 220, so yeah its a fun one
I actually did do that for my first game ever, I rolled Norway and that's when I realized I had no idea how to play the game

Was just playing a game as Khmer. The closest natural wonder was on the coast, I was at the center of the continent. Why did you take all my wonders😭
The only problem with this challenge is that playing as kupe you can win waaaaay earlier as you can cross the ocean without cartography

If they're not in the game you can't earn tourists from them

Religion can be quick but faith generation is a bottleneck, and if Indonesia or Ghandi is in the game...
