Great videos...well done and informational. I make simple open face molds for glass fusing and am wondering what ceramic mold material you are using. The material I use usually breaks down after a few castings and doesn't hold detail that great. Keep it up!!

I know nothing about molds. Could you explain how to make a mold of a teatray or serving platter? Please. :)
@@deborahgonzalezknight168 Actually you do not need a mold. Find the clay body you wish to work with , roll mit out about 1/4 to 3/8 inches thick and place a plaste or platter of your choice over that and cut around the edge. Remoce the platter or plate and then place the cut out clay on the inside of the platter/plate and gently smooth the clay to the inside conture. When the clay dries, remove it, clean up any imperfectionass and fire to bisque. Hope this helps.
Quick question: when (and how) do you put holes in the mold? I'm casting with glass and I need a hole for air to escape when firing. Thank you for a great tutorial!!

Silicone molds work better for casting concrete.

I enjoyed this video a lot but I still need help . I have a hand that I want to create amold for so that I can cast a pair of gloves so I can wear to cosplay. What kind of mold you recommend should I create to cast gloves?. Also how would I pour say the latex into the mold with filling the mold so it’s hollowed no solid? Is it like a spin method ??? what sort of clay is used ? I've seen a few people use clay as a base or in two part molds but what type of clay can be used. Air dry Clay ?
Since you haven’t received a response to your question yet, I’m curious what exactly you meant…do you mean what type of clay can be used to cast with? Or are you asking what type of clay at the bottom, just to make a base to put the form in?

Such a pretty young lady, your videos have helped me understand Plaster molds... I am going to attempt a cold cast using this method, with the plaster as a mold, for a resin cast with bronze, or copper, I forget. Thank you :-)

Can you cast molten Alluminum or brass in a plaster mold ;
I recommend using casting sand. Your plaster mold will burn or can explode if it is still wet. yikes!
