I was about to write to you. I've been missing your videos! I understand that you enjoy streaming but unfortunately that's not possible for me to follow along! So when I saw this video I was jumping through hoops! Tyvm and kutgw! 😊
There's been a weekly video for like the last 4 months!! Although, understandably the mini Moneyball videos might not sate that need. They were a little lighter given the festive period.
Man this is good. One thing I love about your realistic approach to the tactic recreation (for Streich or others), is that I like being able to take these real concepts and adapt them to how I play. For example, I love a back-3 tactic and I'm intrigued with how Streich uses the 2 attacking midfielders and a lone striker. But my personal style is to use a Libero as the central CB, so it gets me thinking about a hybrid of styles. Anyway, all that to say I love the video and keep it up
It's the beauty of FM, right? Being able to see things in real life and find ways to implement it - whether that be in it's entirety, or just borrowing small elements here and there!
I'm quite enjoying the tactics screen bit at the moment. I think there's something nice about using it to explain concepts and zooming in when talking about roles.
@@mustermannfm Yes, it's very slick. It also shows you're thinking for yourself and not just following what other creators are doing, and that's working. They're good too, but you've really hit on a solid formula. I play FM because it's fun and it's a way to try out ideas I pick up, so these videos are perfect for me.
Took a bit of a break from Football Manager recently & found a lot of my usual's have either cut back on content, or moved away from the type of content I like. Was a bit bummed about it... till I found this channel. The Chelsea videos reeled me in (I actually downloaded & continued that save for a bit), but loved all other videos I've seen from you since. Thank you for being you my guy lol
Love Streich and Freiburg. Thanks for making this video. I have believed Nico Schlotterbeck was truly destined for the very top of the game since he started breaking through.
Schlotterbeck is such a quality player. Freiburg have had a great history of bringing through some excellent players, too. Stretching all the way back to the Finke era. Such an interesting team.
I must admit, I'm probably going to leave Germany/Bundesliga alone for a while now. Streich, Dortmund, Tuchel (which included covering his time at Mainz and Dortmund). I probably need to give a little bit of love to some of the other leagues before FM25 arrives 🤣
Been looking for a defensively solid 442 system to use in my Dyche inspired save! Cheers Mustermann, I look forward to using it.Might have to put get stuck in on...
Be wary - whilst I usually have Get Stuck In on, that does mean that the opposition get more set pieces. And we know how effective set pieces are in the game!
As said in the video, whilst "Gegenpressing" literally translates as counter-pressing, as a tactical philosophy it is far more than that. "[it's] a very proactive style of football....We like to press high, with a very intense counter-pressure. When we have the ball, we do not like any square or back passes....it is a fast, proactive, attacking, counter-attacking, counter-pressing, exciting and entertaining [style of] football...we continuously pressed them for the entire game" This is not the counter-pressing introduced by Lobanovskyi at Dynamo Kiev. As explained above by Rangnick, gegenpressing is sustained pressing through all phases, combined with a front foot mentality that looks to swarm and overwhelm the opposition throughout. Gegenpress (the tactical philosophy) involves gegenpressing (the word). Gegenpressing (the word) alone is not the entirety of gegenpress (the tactical philosophy). Really, they should've given it a different name to avoid confusion 😂
So you used Invite Crosses to completely block off the center? I have to assign 1 of my players to man mark though, 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 always leave a midfielder more than my double pivot 😂
Invite Crosses primarily helps with stopping the full backs from being too wide when defending your defensive 3rd. The double pivot can be really dangerous defensively. I've noticed that if one of them is high up the pitch, the other one doesn't like coming across and covering the space. So man marking can be super handy.
@@mustermannfm I haven’t solved the 4-3-3 yet but for the 4-2-3-1 I just jump one of my CBs (usually the most attacking one) to man mark the attacking midfielder 😂
Probably not. I'm a firm believer that if there is already something comprehensive on the subject out there, that I would only consider doing it as well if I can add something to the conversation. I can't. @RDFTactics has you covered wonderfully on this (within the limitations of FM24): ruclips.net/video/Y50iLewW86g/видео.html
Pronunciation is an issue for sure. Especially with Eggestein - pronounced differently at different points in the video. Although, it is worth pointing out that Lienhart was pronounced Lion-heart by the German commentator repeatedly on the videos on the Bundesliga channel that were watched whilst researching!!
@mustermannfm It's wrong, though. There's also the name Leinhart, which comes close to lionhearr. I do appreciate if some research is done before saying the names on video.
@@needfoolthings I trust you. The problem won't go away. I will continue to use commentary of player's names in their native tongue as my reference point. That's a darn sight more than any other creator does. Although, in this instance I did use German commentary rather than Austrian commentary. Maybe there's the issue. If they pronounce it wrong, I'll pronounce it wrong. *All bets are off when it comes to streaming, though. Even with research and writing names out phonetically, there's not a hope I'll then be able to reference those notes whilst midway through a game 🤣
@@mustermannfm You CAN trust me in this. Austrian IS a german dialect (bairisch/"bavarian") and saying Lionheart or Leinhart for Lienhart is purely and simply wrong from that commentator. It's not an issue on your side and as I give these corrections and tips precisely because I see you make an effort for each video. You do make the best videos and I especially love your puns and sense of humor in these.

Great stuff as usual, but that transition animation from the gegenpressbit back to the tactics screen was top notch.

Very kind words, thank you. I'm still very much in shock that people enjoy the stuff I put out there, and will be forever grateful.

Glad you enjoyed it dude. This was really fun to make, and I hope you'll enjoy the additional chapters in the Director's Cut version, too!

Nice video, only one thing: Gegenpressing does mean counter-press. It’s just different to a high press😅

Appreciate it 🙏 do you have any recommendation about training?
Not especially. I either leave it to the Assistant Manager or focus on doing things based around concepts. I'm never looking for optimisation, though.
Thank you 🙏

Hello Mustermann! When should you use 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2 and 3-4-3? Depending on the opponent's formation?
By and large based on the players available to you
@@mustermannfm Great! I'm currently testing it at Freiburg so perfect hahaha, so no matter the opponent you can always use the 4-2-3-1 for example?
@ Indeed. If that's what you feel allows you to get your best XI on the pitch in closest to their best positions.
Could you do tony mowbray Sunderland please
An interesting suggestion. I'll look into it.
