If you introduce concepts as group A and group B, then referring to the different groups in full again as a reminder occasionally can help in remembering for the listener
This grammar used to confuse me a lot. Thank you for helping me solve the problem. Your teaching is wonderful. Very detailed and very helpful. Thank you very much.
What a brilliant lesson this is! I just didn't know the two are different, as many language books say they can be used interchangeably. By the way, sensei, could you possibly make some videos about intonation? I've got some doubts in regard to that. For example, does the stress on the syllable(s) of a word always remain the same? While ''食べました’’ has the stress on ''べ '', ''食べた’’ seems to have it on ''食''. And how about stress of prepositions in a sentence? I always have problems with the pronunciation of prepositions like ''に ''、 ''と ''、 ''や' when they are combined with different words, and I noticed some changes in their pitch in different situations, like ''つぎ '' and ''つぎに''. Hope you can explain that briefly to us. Thanks a lot! :)
I'd really suggest looking up Dogen. He teaches phonetics and covers *exactly* the kind of stuff you're asking, like the rules for how the intonation changes for the different verb conjugations. (As for the particles/prepositions, their pitch is entirely dependent on the word that came before it) Here's a link to one of his videos if you're curious about hearing more ^-^ ruclips.net/video/O6AoilGEers/видео.html
as always, very clear explanations for difficult grammar points.. thank you man! if possible, could you do a video on "teki"? I am always confused about it thanks. take care.
最近、日本の本を読んでみていますが、このビデオを見た前にこの文が分かりにくいです。 「そんな人々の願いを叶えるように闇は次第に海の向こう、山の果てに追いやられる。」 「「そんな人々の願いを叶えるように」は「闇」と「追いやられる」とどちらの修飾ですか?」と思っていました。 間違ったら、文の意味は完全に変わりますよね。 あっき先生のおかげで、やっと分かったと思います。 ありがとうござます! (I might've made grammatical mistakes in the sentences above, but I hope I still got the message across ^_^)
This is difficult for me as I never could work out why I was getting this wrong. Very useful to have a rule to help work it out as I prepare for the N3
「○○をする」と「○○する」は違いがあるかどうかずっと思ったのことなんですので、今回のレッスンは特別におもしろいでした。これ以来にこの修飾のことに参考をしてみると思います。いつもとても詳しい説明をしてくださってありがとうございます。
分かりやすく、うまく日本語が勉強できて、日本語の話し方ときも上手になるビデオです

You can use this site www.gavo.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ojad/search/index/word:食べる to look up pitch information for predicates and their 'conjugated' forms.

相変わらず、このレッスンもとても役に立ちました。ありがとうございます。
実は「によるN」より「によると」の形を知っています。例えば「先生によると〜」
でも、それは修飾じゃないと思いますね。
勉強になりました。
★日本語の、修飾(語)の種類 ( 2種類 : AとB )
A : 名詞を修飾する. Modify nouns.
(インターネット) : 〜による+名詞 N (研究けんきゅう)
(インターネット) : 〜に対する+名詞 N (研究)
(インターネット) : 〜についての+名詞 N (研究)
(インターネット) : 〜をはじめとする+名詞 N (研究)
☀️ 〜「による」〜「に対する」〜「についての」〜「をはじめとする」は、名詞を修飾する時に使う 。modify nouns !
B : 動詞を修飾する. Modify verbs.
(インターネット) : 〜によって+ 動詞 V. ( 研究 けんきゅう)する
(ずるい人) : 〜に対して+ 動詞 V ( 注意ちゅうい・を)する。
(インターネット).: 〜について+ 動詞 V ( 研究 けんきゅう・を)する
☀️ 〜「によって」〜「に対して」〜「について」は.、動詞を修飾する時に使う 。modify verbs !
助かりました ありがとうございます!!!!
