Your video is very informative on BBMDs. I have the following question for you and it is very important for us to get the answer. Please respond soon if you have sometime.
Which BACnet Configuration is better, using BACnet Device as FD or BBMD when this is the only device in the Subnet and wants to talk to BACnet Devices on the other Subnet?
I would like your suggestion on configuring our BACnet setup....It is very urgent for us, please respond soon. We are planning to make a BACnet setup for our customers and one question....There are two Subnets the devices are in ...one BACnet Device in Subnet 1 and two or more BACnet Devices in Subnet 2. So we will have one BBMD in Subnet 2 to allow broadcasts to flow to the Subnet 1. But how to configure the BACnet Device in Subnet 1 as? Either as a BBMD or as a BFD (BACnet Foreign Device)? Please suggest. This decision is very important for us, which configuration people normally use? If the single device in Subnet 1 is configured as a BBMD then will the BBMD send the broadcasts that came as directed messages from Subnet 2 to the Subnet 1 which is unnecessary task and creates unwanted traffic in Subnet 1 as there are no other devices other than the BBMD itself on the Subnet 1 that need broadcasts. Please let me know if my description of the problem is not clear.

    Hi Jeff,
I have a question about network numbers. how would I connect my front end to multiple BACnet IP networks? I have a customer with 15 different sites. each site is on a different network number but same UDP port 47808. my front end can only be registered as a florigen device on a BBMD device. I have researched the internet about a solution for my scenario and it looks like I must have all sites on the same network number and UDP port. each of those sites has over 300 devices and I would love to separate them by using different network number per site. if you think there is a way, please let me know. I appreciate your time and help in advance!!!
