This was great!! I’ve been thinking about starting a RUclips art channel for years now but I’m always like “it’s too late” but I haven’t even started 🤦♀️ the negative self talk keeps getting me. But lately I’ve found so many smaller art channels like yours that are giving me hope and inspiration!! Thank you so much!! I just started an online art course after dropping out of art school a few years ago lol your ideas are great and I’m so inspired. But I’m also terrified of being on camera… do you have any opinion on showing your face vs being faceless and how it does or does not affect your growth?
Awww thank you for this super sweet comment! 🥰 I subscribe to a few faceless art channels, but I do think it can hurt your growth long term because you aren’t developing as good of an audience relationship as you could be. But don’t let your fear of being on camera hold you back from starting, so do faceless videos for as long as you need to. IMO I just treat the camera like a friend or like writing in a journal and that works best for me. Just film as often as you can and it’ll become natural pretty quickly!
i have to disagree w Kelsey. I watch plenty of youtubers who don’t show their face and I feel like that makes the content more concise and more interesting bc I’m not focused on the creator’s looks. As a result, I want to binge more of their videos and I end up sharing those videos w my friends. Regardless of how big or how small your channel is, what is really going to encourage you in being consistent is what makes you feel comfortable and confident. So if you really hate showing your face, don’t do it. And if the time comes that you want to, great. And if you decide that you never want to, that’s also great. Just do you and you’ll find the right following.
@@zmunchkin I agree, I do love what Kelsey said tho. I have a small art yt channel. I don't show my face or talk. I have lots of people that love and come back to my videos. Just do what you love and you got it!
@@lifeoncanvass Same! I also have a small art RUclips channel and I also don't show my face and I don't use my voice. I also feel like I would get judged if I did. I'm too worried of what other people might think of me. I think I'll warm up to it soon though.
I think reviewing art subscription boxes is another nice idea for artist videos. I love watching videos like that. Where people get out of their comfort zone and use art materials they may not normally use.
Studio vlogs are great but I think it's important for artists to mix things up to keep viewers interested in and surprised by their content. SO MANY great ideas here - thanks, Kelsey!👍

Hi Kelsey! I'm only 8 mins in and I'm SO INSPIRED by the ideas you put here. I'm trying to grow my RUclips channel (I focus on painting plein air and urban sketching) and this list is SO USEFUL to make sure I have a variety of content instead of just sticking to what I want to do. Thanks so much!
Love these! I definitely wrote some down and will be adapting them to my channel. My content goal for this year is to focus on making valuable content, not just paint with me's.
Thanks for the video Kelsey! The way you recall artists' names so quickly and have so much info about different topics shows how much passion you have! Subscribed
this is very helpful for a traditional artist, since its pretty hard to film or think of new content, ive rewatched this many times and have been following your mentioned lists, thank you so much for sharing, these ideas will rlly help for future videos:)
By the way, I'm a software engineer w/ my own business. So for almost all of these ideas, I'm converting them into general ideas for content that do not necessarily have to apply to art. In other words, most of this advice/ideas are applicable to any business or hobby you have, not just art.
Just gave this video a BIG thumbs up! I really loved this video! It was so helpful and detailed! Thank you so much! I would love to see more of this type of content. this was a journey! Thank you for that. I'm a composer/ producer so not all the art advice translates but I had a lot of fun figuring out equivalent challenges and prompts from the art prompts.
Still impressed by how well you're organised ^^' I have done a "how to get into galleries", certainly can talk about that! Honestly this makes me want to be better organised with my RUclips channel, but the reality is that once your art career picks up, RUclips videos are just harder to make time wise. I shall learn from you! I have dully noted (almost) all your ideas, so thank you so much!
I'd really love to start making videos on RUclips. I've been fantasising about it for years, and now that I'm actually thinking about doing it I find myself lost at filming. Seeing all the shots people do to make it look pretty and interesting seems quite overwhelming. 😵💫 but listening to these ideas I had to pause this video, to not get lost at all the great ideas haha. I will for sure give it a try. And I hope I can come back to your channel to report how it went :))

Hi Kelsey, Thank you so much for this amazing video. Have been contemplating starting an art channel but been worried how I can make it more interesting.. I mean beyond the art itself and you just gave me so much inspiration ❤ thank you so much xx
Thank you! You made a video that I had to stop & take notes from!! That is so awesome for me! I wasn't lacking ideas in general, (I have too many) , but I needed ideas that connected me to this process (newbie, just starting out, learning before doing.)
One thing I want to do as a soon to be youtube channel will be to combine art and poetry as a way to teach and encourage people who want to grow as an artist and as a person. Many people like me battle with social anxiety, CPTSD so being able to learn about art and how to overcome these daily challenges can be very powerful in being a positive influence. I encourage other creators to do something similar. We can all overcome our kryptonites and have a blessed week guys :)
Wow! What a great video and Thank you for all the time stamps! Super helpful. You know you could break down all 100 of these ideas and make Idea pins on Pinterest. ( especially in the creator rewards program) move traffic to your youtube/website, etc. & monetize it more.
Im pretty new but so far iv found that speed draws are the thing i love doing the most :)) my old channels and this one has old speed draws (that r now private) but i just started back up after taking time to learn
Thanks for the video ideas, I am a bit stuck on ideas as I do a lot of art timelapses/speedpaints and occasional vlog, but it can get boring for both me and my audience. I am considering starting a comic and/or making a visual novel, so I will share that process too :)
OMG this is super helpfull! I think I'm gonna take this as a challenge, I saw before that a 100 things challenge can help anyone overcome any topics, so being a YT artist is gonna be my topic! Thanks a lot!
right when i think i should stop, because i am a total beginner.... then decide to watch Kelsey video... my will to just do it goes📈📈📈📈.... thnk u kelsey⚘️
Thank you this was so so helpful ❤❤❤ 😂😂😂 It was both fun & educating to watch. I've been taking so many notes about to go make these videos & change the World! Wish me Luck!
I really want too start my own art channel but i havent had any ideas for videos and i dont know what too post so youre ideas really helped me. Youre so nice for taking youre time making ideas and helping others for art video ideas. Thank you so so much.♥️
Just found your channel, awesome video! a lot of helpful tips and video ideas! I'm looking at doing more with my RUclips channel, I've been creating art for years but I want to focus more on an art channel and helping others create art.
Loving this list!!! I’m so excited to use a lot of these. Thanks for alllll the time and effort that went into this video (and all of your videos that I’m currently binging. 😜)
Ok I have to stop and watch it again, this time with a pen 😅 Thank you so much for bringing this value! I struggle a lot with ideas lately so this is unbelievably nice from you to share here! Love your content!
Helloo! I just discovered you 1 day ago and I cant stop watching your videos. I had a hard time creating art or content during the last months and I think you convinced me to restart youtube! 🥰🌟
Can't believe the last one was a full circle of your own video hahaha nice move :P Seriously though thank you so much for your help! You are a true godsend to us beginner artists trying to make our passions our career :)
First, you are so pretty 😊, and second, thank you for such a great video. I noted down all the possible ideas I can make videos of. This is super helpful.
Saved this vid and also subscribed. These are so helpful because I'm always stuck trying to figure out what to do on my art channel (not this one) and I end up over thinking things. lol Also I'm excited to see where your channel goes.
Thank you for sharing. I've been thinking of having an arts & craft creativity blog/channel. I'm skilled in diverse areas from drawing and painting to papermaking and printmaking to textiles/fiber art: knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting. I graduated with my BA I studio art and art history in 2020. I've been told I write well about art so it's something id like to pursue. I have post ideas for you Kelsey: exhibition reviews, book reviews, film/performance art reactions.
Ooh, those are good ideas! Re: your channel idea, I think that could definitely work. The key to having a really diverse channel in terms of topics & mediums like that is to really nail down your target audience so that hopefully everyone cares equally about the different topics on your channel. It's definitely possible, and I'm wishing you the best of luck Felonee!
This is a really great video. It really helps me a lot to gather many different ideas about my channel. Although I never done any other videos expect speed paint videos, now I am thinking of trying new videos after watching this video. Thanks a lot 😍😍💙
Good video! I love all these ideas. I want to make an art channel soon but my art isn't that good. And i'm afraid people would hate. It hurts me when i spend so much time and effort into a drawing just for people to say mean things about it.
This is really helpful! I’ve been wanting to start a RUclips channel but I’ve been struggling with figuring out the materials needed: what would you recommend as like cameras/ editing materials??
I'm so so glad!! Coming up with video ideas, especially when you're starting out (I saw your other comment, congrats btw on starting your own channel!) can be SO intimidating! Hopefully this alleviated that fear for you!

Wow! What a great video and Thank you for all the time stamps! Super helpful. You know you could break down all 100 of these ideas and make Idea pins on Pinterest. ( especially in the creator rewards program) move traffic to your youtube/website, etc. & monetize it more.
That was SO HELPFUL, thank you. It was well worth the effort. YOU ROCK !
You just dropped the most helpful video in history TYYY
Absolutely FANTASTIC video! Thank you so much for sharing! ❤❤❤
This video is one of the most helpful I've seen so far. Thank you so much for sharing!

Just found your channel, awesome video! a lot of helpful tips and video ideas! I'm looking at doing more with my RUclips channel, I've been creating art for years but I want to focus more on an art channel and helping others create art.
Literally the most useful thing I've watched in ages. Thank you!!
Me realising I can start my whole year worth of content with this one video...
Loving this list!!! I’m so excited to use a lot of these. Thanks for alllll the time and effort that went into this video (and all of your videos that I’m currently binging. 😜)

Helloo! I just discovered you 1 day ago and I cant stop watching your videos. I had a hard time creating art or content during the last months and I think you convinced me to restart youtube! 🥰🌟

Really happy I was able to inspire you Shivani!
Yessss!!! Thanks for this 🤙🏼
Saved this vid and also subscribed. These are so helpful because I'm always stuck trying to figure out what to do on my art channel (not this one) and I end up over thinking things. lol Also I'm excited to see where your channel goes.
Thank you for the video
I'm just starting my channel, thank you so much for the ideas!
Your videos are so informative! Thank you!
I have post ideas for you Kelsey:
exhibition reviews, book reviews, film/performance art reactions.
Thank you so much for this! I just started my channel and this was super helpful~
Wow, that looked exhausting haha but totally appreciate the work you put into this video 😊
Fantastic Kelsey. Fan-freaking-tastic.
This was awesome! Tysm🥰
Awesome! You are doing a really great job!!
Good video! I love all these ideas. I want to make an art channel soon but my art isn't that good. And i'm afraid people would hate. It hurts me when i spend so much time and effort into a drawing just for people to say mean things about it.
Thank you for this. I will create a RUclips channel soon and haven't started filming yet but I'm getting my Patreon page ready
Thank you so much for this I started my channel about a year ago and I’ve been running out of ideas! Just subscribed!
Love so many of these ideas! New sub. Thanks so much. 🤩

This is so helpful!!
I'm so so glad!! Coming up with video ideas, especially when you're starting out (I saw your other comment, congrats btw on starting your own channel!) can be SO intimidating! Hopefully this alleviated that fear for you!
